on an adult bat is it to the lower end of grade 1 i think. For a junior it is probably grade 2.

how tall are you mate? Solitaire cricket will do you a custom made grade 1 bat for £100 and a custom made grade 1 junior for around £70. I have heard only good reviews about there bats and you will have it made to your specs rather than a typical off the shelf bat. their website is www.solitairecricket.com (http://www.solitairecricket.com)

Aidy, why do you post such utter crap, show me a garde1++ in any suppliers brochure or price list as I've never seen it and since it does not exist why even bother to type such rubbish.

No such thing as 1+. All made up.

Adding a plus to the end of G1 means nothing, when will you guys understand that willow does not play better because of marketing men. If I call my willow Grade 1++++++++ Incredible Off The Scale Ping LE will you pay more for it?

What Talisman says is correct and is a clear case of why when you should buy a bat in the store as opposed to online.

Reason being is every bat is so different. A cricket shop might get ten Ignite 1000s which would be graded low level grade 1. Out of those ten you could get 3 which could be sold as players bats, 3 which are probably right, 3 which are nto worth the money and 1 which could be a dead set plank.

I assure you if you go in and hit bats with a mallet you will struggle to tell the difference between alot of mid range and top end bats. Sure you do get the odd exception, for example out of 10 Ricky Ponting PLayers you might get 2 ones which are sensational, but you may also get 3-4 which would be very average bats even in the mid range. I can assure you in this years range there have been several kookaburra mayyhem bats which have sounded and come off alot better than the more expensive players version. Why? Kooka just gradfe souly on looks and nothing  else.

For the record, out of a whole shop of bats, a $330 slazenger was the best bat in the shop for ping by far. Hitting better than any top of the range Slazengers, GMs, Gray nichs etc

Nearly there, the best playing willow is mostly down to low density, close grains is also a benefit and a company who presses well is also a major factor. Pretty willow should not be a major factor but we are all human and aesthetics is the biggest draw in choosing a bat in reality.

i'm glad you said about a kookaburra mayhem :)
i have one which i bought from a shop (it was the same price as a chaos!)
but in my opinion it looks a whole lot better and more importantly, play's alot better than my mates chaos.
