Title: Used GM bats
Post by: patriotscreen on July 19, 2013, 12:18:55 PM
Hard to find a good condition GM bat to buy as I don't have the funds to buy a new one (and can't really justify it since I only got my RK custom a couple of months back) so basically I am looking to see if anybody has any used GM's around the 2.8 weight range. Looking for 606-909 models, but trying to stay away from the expensive stuff.

Does anyone here have anything?

I am currently trying to sell my GM Zona 808 mate. Not sure what budget you have though.

Let me know if you are interested mate.

Yep unfortunately. I know we need to have a way of stopping people from posting up to 50 to get access to the wanted/sale section but I do find it to be a tad unfair on those of us who have a genuine interest in contributing to the board and then also slightly ironic when we have to post these in the normal sections.

But anyway, looking to keep it under £100, I used to have a Luna 606 that was lovely but too heavy.

Guys, You can't PM offering bats. It has been a rule change. It all needs to be in the open. The fact the guy hasn't got the posts required means he shouldn't be asking for bats.

What is the point in rules if we are breaking them left right and centre?

Ok, I hadn't fully followed the rule changes so was unaware.

As a man low on posts also, I can see his argument.  While it would be wrong to allow people to sell with low post count (as that will be when you get people doing it for financial gain) it seems harmless to let a chap buy a bat off a forum regular.

Nothing wrong with him buying off a regular if he wants to mate, just make sure it's done in the open that's all. Protects everyone involved then

It is a two way street that have to be adhered to. He is near the allocation so within a few days or a week he can be allowed to view the sales section.

so for instance if we posted it all on this thread, pictures, price and confirmation of sale for example, it would be ok?

That would be down to the discretion of the admin. But being in the open is much more advisable than pm's

Considering I already own a bat from one of the forum sponsors I don't think it's putting anyone at risk by simply asking if anyone has anything to sell. I haven't asked for PM's and I would much rather if anyone is interested in selling that they posted details and pictures in this topic. I understand that the rule change is there to protect people but I think anyone over 100 posts is fairly regular on here. I know there are guys who have thousands of posts but it does still take a while to hit 100. I don't agree that I shouldn't be asking for bats considering I have previously had enough posts to view the for sale section. Just seems a tad unfair to me to change this rule...

I'm not saying you are not trust worthy. But the actions of a few have tarnished a large amount of people.

Btw why don't you buy a new bat from 606 range?  Most of them are going under £100. According to GM they don't grade there bats for performance, they do it for looks.

Because I already have a good match bat, am really just looking for something that I really like using but to keep as a backup of if its on a damp wicket.

After giving my GM Epic (had thought it needed a lot more knocking plus too heavy for me) a go in the nets this week which went well, I decided to use it in my match today. Managed to hit 80* off 69 balls using it, bat felt much better than it had during winter nets. Looking forward to the bat opening up more on today's basis.
