He seems to close the bat face a little in his stance, but it's hard to tell from this angle. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just might mean he tends to play across the line a little. Hard to pick out anything else really! (For me anyways!) If anything, it looks like the batsman leans quite a bit onto his toes, so he may fall over his shots a little.

Amongst other things. I'll let every-one else go to town on this to save arguments and the millions of coaching points when everyone sees a little something that they would like to change! I know what I would do!

Just bat. ;) That's apparently all the advice a coach used to give his players! Sometimes better that way, folk tend to overthink things when they look to change something...

Quite!! was just about to say he looks incredibly tense and it almost looks unnatural, but if your comfortable then dont change a thing.

Yes it is me.
I have always been a bit of a cross batter but it has never been much of a problem for all these years as I was playing for a really good side and coming in at 5,6,7 to smash a few.
This season I am playing with a really struggling team where guys are literally scared to open. So I have taken this responsibility on my shoulders and have been working really hard to play straight and spend time at crease. I have never really thought of foot work before but now when I am deliberately looking to play myself in, I am focusing a bit too much on stance, footwork etc. as I want to bat through the innings.
Criticism is more than welcome as I am looking to improve things without changing too much so don't hold back :D.

a lot of it is in the mind mate, its a very different mindset opening the batting to coming in the lower/middle order and giving it a bit of a tap. Just get it in your head that you don't need to play/score off every ball at the beginning of the innings. Playing straight at the start will help then when you really feel in you can go to your usual aggressive play as you usually would. Wrongly or rightly it's what I'd do...

People will always have opinions about what's right and wrong but the beauty of this game is that people can be different and still succeed. What someone suggests on here might work but it's about finding what's right for you. If it's a shot you're confident or comfortable playing then back yourself. Play every ball on its merit but appreciate that opening up will result in facing the better bowlers with a more helpful ball. Sometimes thinking less and just watching the ball closely will help you. If you flood your mind with points of technique etc your concentration is taken away from the ball

My stance was commented on by umpire yesterday
"Considering your bat starts at gully you hit really straight as last 6" of movement your bat comes down really straight"
I found this funny as I know my bat is picked up towards gully but its comfortable for me as when I picked bat up straight I was coming across line but as long as last but comes straight your good
