We've seen the what grip pro's use thread, but what do YOU use?
Personally I'm a fan of chevron grips. Like octopus too but tend not to use them because they eat gloves. Hate the snake type grips feel very cheap. Can't get along with spiral grips either. Recently used the kookaburra max grip - but ended up putting it the wrong way around (upside down) and really liked it! I also want to try out the GM shock absorba grips people have been raving about!
-
I like the GM grip. Feels real nice in the hand. Whatever grip I use I try and use white/yellow as I find the colour rubs off a lot and ruins the gloves.
-
Shock Absorba's are great, gives you a thicker bottom hand really - sort of like an oval handle that isn't an oval handle.
Do like octopus, but mostly happy to use whatever feels right for that particular handle. Ain't got massive hands so ideal scenario would be octopus bottom hand with chevron top maybe? Do they exist?

octopus bottom/chevron top = kookaburra max grip put upside down! http://www.barringtonsports.com/core/images/products/large/2012_Kookaburra_Max_Grip_Cricket_Bat_Grip.jpg (http://www.barringtonsports.com/core/images/products/large/2012_Kookaburra_Max_Grip_Cricket_Bat_Grip.jpg)

Chevron Grip x 2 please.
-
Kook extreme, scale, octopus and matrix for me !
-
on chevron grips...where do you guys get them from? are UK made ones necessarily better than the cheaper indian ones?
-
2 half spiral, half chevrons. I put them on so the bottom grip has the spiral part at the top and the top grip has the spiral at the bottom.
-
Snake grip on the bottom, either two half snake grips or the bottom half a GM shock absorba in the middle and a Salix hybrid on the top.
On my Octane with a thin handle I went snake grip, salix hybrid, half a shock absorba then the original Octane grip on top. My handle has to be the right thickness an the bottom half thicker than the top, I'm a fussy creature sometimes!
-
2 grips, bottom one not important. top one the gm shock absorba for bottom hand control.
-
GM control grip over a shock absorba, always need two grips on a bat.

Hands like shovels?

Hands like shovels?
Surprisingly not actually, 2 grips is as thick as I can comfortably hold with my top hand (unless the handle is really thin like my Octane)
I have an extra half on the bottom to try and negate my bottom hand dominance, everything still ends up going to cow corner though :-[
-
On my Maverick I just use one white chevron and on my A61 I use two scale grips one red and black and a white one on top...
I use white grips so I don't stain the palms of my gloves :)
-
I got a liking for the GN half moon grips at the moment, although I only have 1, so I have to commit to which bat I'm using so I know what one to grip up! Both are grip-less at this moment in time!
-
I really like these 'octopus arc hybrid' grips that seem to be flavour of the month at the minute. Really sit comfy in the hand.
-
I cut a grip into long pieces and tape it to the bottom of of the handle to create a wider bottom handle, then just a standard scale grip over the top.

Why not just put an extra half grip on the bottom?? Or two halves on top of each other?? Sounds less like effort to me haha

Maybe he means wider, not thicker - ie less oval.

No it makes the bottom hand more oval and the top had more round.
-
Im voting GM shock absorba, only one im happy with that actually will stay where its supposed to for a couple of months
-
I am rather fond of the Puma hybrid style spirals with the thin spiral at the top and the thicker one at the bottom. I use that on top of 1 and a half chevrons.
-
Double thickness spiral grip, usually in white so it does not reck my gloves
-
I'm liking the Salix type hybrid grips at the moment!
-
2 grips, Chevron at the bottom and a scale at the top.
-
Half a spiral with a chevron on top, preventing me from becoming to bottom handed
-
Kookaburra max grip in yellow for me

Me too. I noticed that my AJK is the other way up to the Toro. Is there a theory to how they're fitted?

Has to be one of these somewhere on my bat handle, safe to say i've been converted

I use it opposite to the way it is on AJK i.e the spiral at the bottom.

Same. If I have 2 on a bat, the bottom grip has the spiral at the top, and the chevron at the bottom and vice cersa for the top grip. The top has to have the spiral at the bottom

I like a thicker handle . I find a GN matrix in any colour , then a matching snake or half moon grip . I feel that provides good comfort, grip and make a thicker handle .
-
GM shock absorba all the way, find this the most comfortable grip for me, is all personal preference though!
-
Used to prefer gm shock absorba but recently been buying these octopus grip from rbay for 3.49. The suction bits are alot bigger then normal octupus grips. Very durable and thick as well as good grip
