I find I bruise more from Bola balls than normal cricket balls. Just me though. Defo hurts like hell though!!

Lol.  Had one the other week, missed a straight one as i'm driving and it hits that gap between the inner thigh pad and  top of my back pad.  Bruise has only just gone!  Faced one of our 1st team bowlers who's too quick for me.  Some choice words said!
