Title: Biggest kahuna refurb/repair
Post by: smilley792 on July 26, 2013, 09:22:35 AM
Broke my kahuna mid way through last season. And stuck it in the spare room since.

Decided on my slow day at work(home based) to repair the damaged edge and refurb it.

Before.

After.

Don't claim to be professional, but it looks a lot better, and is no longer broken.

Looks a nice job fella. Have you done the mongoose too?

Didn't do the mongoose. Quote like the used and abused look on that.

I merely cleaned the face and edges with some sand papers.
Glued the cracks and edge back in, then a skim off fibreglass to strengthen the edge repair.
Waxed it.
Then applied a helicopter scuff sheet.

Unfortunately I think it's time for the bin. The inside edge has gone 3times previously. I repaired it well, so it's just snapped a half an inch away from we're the repair was in the net session I just had,

Annoyingly, I can't actually remember I side edging one, can only assume an off centre hit as done it.
Very soft wood on this bat!
