Title: New bat needed for about £100-140
Post by: jak kez 187 on August 15, 2013, 09:37:44 PM
Broke my bat in the nets earlier after my 2nd net session with it, pretty gutted as it had a great middle but it was a bit too heavy for me so I was on the look out for a slightly lighter bat anyway.
Looking for a new bat around the 2.8 oz mark with a good pick up and ping and looking to spend about £100-140, cheaper the better really as i'm a student.
Bigger middle the better and not really bothered about it being blank or with stickers, just want a top bat that will go!
Anyone got any good recommendations? Happy to buy off some of the forum sponsors but there is so many to choose from I cant really make my mind up haha.

Ask Aldred to make you a custom made bat. Ask him if he can make a bat based on a profile you like.

I'm going to ask him to make a CA 15000 shape later on this year.

Id have a look at Vanquish mate, I bought a bat from them last week, ive posted some pics of it on here (look at the thread "my new weapon")

I know its not a custom bat but for me, you wont get a better bat at the price my one is an absolute gun used it last night at club nets and its beautiful.

Failing that, you will probably be able to get a decent bat from one of the forum sponsors at that price, maybe ask Chris at Kippax or Aldred as hes posted some beauties on here recently although he may not be within your price range.

whatever you do... steer clear of ebay

Pick a forum sponsor you like and send them a PM

Or Newbery have the Thruxton 5star for £100 can't go wrong at that price.

Cheers for the replies

Gone for a silver sovereign from Aldred in the end.

2.8-9oz with a long middle, can't wait to get it.

I've just bought two £150 bats and I'm still tempted. I've had a Newbery before and they are quality.

It's hard to look past the Thruxton for that money. You won't find a much better bat, regardless of how much it costs.
