Thanks jake, you're a man in the know, what're your opinions on shoo goo vs toe guards?

Shoe Goo is great except it comes off easily, generally if you toe it then you have to reapply where the ball hits it.

Multiple layers protect the bat well from damp but it is a bit of a pain in the ass. I have some bats with goo and some without, it's definately easier than reappying a toe guard. Also you can see cracks if they form.

Swear by it. 2-3 layers, with about 12-24 hours between each application should be more than sufficient. I do tap the bat fairly firmly on the ground and on my old bat the Shoe Goo hasn't needed re-application for around 3 years. Just applying it to my new acquisition now!  :)

I find overlaping onto the face (just a bit- 3mm) helps it stay on for seasons.
