Title: Puma 4000 bats
Post by: Twelfth Man on August 23, 2013, 03:05:49 PM
Just wondering if anybody on the forum has one or has had a Puma 4000? Thinking about getting one but don't want it to turn out to be a waste of money.

I've seen some, and I think with any brand with grade 2 down it can be hit or miss. You might get an absolute gun, you might not. Depending on price, could be a risk worth taking.....

I keep toying Witt the idea of a Karbon 4000 from pro direct as well, it may look a bit ropey but I imagine it will be good, I reckon it will perform well.

Don't see many bad Puma bats, may even be a Robert Pack made bat! I bought a Calibre 3000 from pro direct last year and came with a sticker on handle tha said made in England so could be a great bargain,

I got a 5000 last week as well, wasn't too impressed with it.
Way too much concaving , though the willow is grade 1 and it wasnt made in England.
At the price you cant complain though.

They look like beauts. Karbon looks amazing, wish I had the cash for a top of the range. I'm worried about buying online through online sales as you don't know what the cosmetics are going to turn out like for a start!

Sadly that's a risk with most places unlikely forum sponsors who are usually more than happy to send pics of the actial bats.

Btw can anyone tell me if/ how it's possible to work out if these are make by rob pack?

Should say 'Made in England' on them if they're RP made. He made all the 5/6000s that were UK made I think.

Yeah I know, which is a little frustrating! It is probably three years since I bought a bat 'blind' and that was only my second ever bat, gray nicolls evo carbo. Ever since I have managed to either see oictures or even pick up the bat before I've paid for it. Suppose that's a little bit spoilt! Do I take the risk of a 4000, hmmmm...

Thanks for that. Mine are both made in England so glad to hear they're crafted by someone well know for his bat making.

Although the proof is in how they play. I'm not normally star struck by bat makers but I guess it increases the chances of getting a gooden
