Title: re-pressing a bat?
Post by: cricket11 on August 30, 2013, 09:35:09 AM
I've had a Gay-Nicolls for about 2 seasons now and it is starting to feel soft in the middle when hitting a ball.

I was wondering what effect re-pressing has? Does the bat go back to how it was originally, when new, or not?

Thanks in advance

I am not sure repressing it would be the right approach.

Have you used it a lot or has it been sitting around?

If it has had lots of use it may be coming to the end of its natural life. If it has been sitting around doing nothing you may be able to re-knock it in with a mallet to wake it up a bit.

Have used it a fair bit, but not lots of use. I'll try giving it another knocking in and see what happens.
