I personally think its a really good idea. I've really struggled to get to most of the county championship matches this year as loads of them have started on Mondays and Tuesdays , with the odd one on Wednesdays but the way Hampshire are going most of them only get a couple of hours play on the final day  :-[.

Test matches are a bit of a bigger deal and a lot of people will take days off and stuff for international cricket but I think it could work!

I think consideration of the global viewers needs considering. For example I'm in Melbourne and with the current format I can watch to 1st session at night until about 10pm and 2nd session to 12.40am which I think isn't too bad. If it went to a day night match it would start too late and finish n the morning, when most would be going to work. I believe less would end up watching abroad because of it. A lot like the current T20s. Same for tests in Aus, the main time viewers in Eng could watch would be early morning, fine for the Saturday or Sunday but not deal during the week. Admittedly Aus tests start at midnight in Eng currently which again isn't great but I think it's slightly better.
