I bought a v100 Ultimate on ebay recently. Although listed as new it has clearly faced some balls as half of the face has been sanded. There are 4 vertical surface cracks in the face, 2 of which are close to the edge. Is this something to be concerned about or is it easily fixed?

The fact that you bought a bat off eBay and believed the seller when they said it was "new" is something to be very concerned about! :D

Most things like this seem to quite unpredictable. If you're not going to/don't want to send it back to the seller then I would suggest at least putting some tape around where the cracks are near the edges to stop them becoming any larger.

Ha. Maybe I should just wait for your listings although it would be good if you learned to use a lighter bat. I just bought a couple of brand new Kooks off ebay as well. They came straight from the kook agent in Qld. Ebay is awesome.

Its awesomeness is unquestioned! :) can you send me the link for the agent in Qld as, other than the bats of mine I sell, I don't find much decent stuff on there...

Bat has now been fixed and looks pretty good. Had a ball machine session with it today. The whole thing is sweet spot. It's really noticable on crossbat shots. I don't rate Slaz bats at all. Have had a V12 ultimate and V800 Ultimate and they have both been pretty average. Just run of the mill grade 1 bats. Nothing special. But this thing is sensational. It can't be the willow so it has to be the TAS inserts. Rebound is impressive. It should be ready for action next week so we will see how it goes against a real ball.
On another note I used a Kookaburra extratec on the face. Worst product on the market. Avoid this stuff. After one session it was cracked and peeling off the edges. I then tried to remove it and have been left with so much residue on the bat face that I will be cleaning it for a couple of days.
