Title: different size edges
Post by: RaepTiem on September 10, 2013, 10:59:04 AM
One side of my bat is 34mm while the other is 31-32 mm. Does this effect balance or anything else.

If you haven't noticed it when using it, then the answer is no.

Chances are it hasn't done.
Did you even notice they were different before you measured?? If not it won't have any impact at all  :)

This is quite common actually.  I often find that the outside edge for a right hander is 2-3mm thicker than the inside edge - it's clear who the bat makers have in mind when making them!  :)

Having said that, it's a natural quirk of handmade cricket bats, and quite cute really - I think imperfections like this give the bat character.  You will see less of it on CNC made bats...

Didn't someone have a GM/B3/Other CNC made bat with odd sized edges when this topic was covered a while ago?  Think there was a 2-3mm difference if memory serves...
