As the season is over now or maybe this weekend for some teams, I'm wondering whats the worst bat you've seen or heard this season as i'm sure there are plenty around.
For me theres two and one belonged to a lad in our youth set up and 3/4 team, Kook ricohet forge the model buts the top end one, he split the handle and didn't realise and his bat sounded truly woeful and made that almost metal ping when he hit it.
second a lad we played away never seen someone try and whack the ball so hard and yet see it go about 6-7 yards was literally the driftwood bat felt sorry for him in a way.
All tales welcome

Worst sounding was a Dynadrive I think the bloke took straight out the wrapping, lovely bats but take hours to knock in
-
Plyed against an adult who had one of those tiny white slazenger polycarbonate type bats you get with 3 stumps and a ball. It must of been a beach set. He lasted an over but the ball literally didnt go anywhere.
-
Two Laver and Wood used by two different players, one with the C10 handle. I am not sure if it's the batsman or the bat, the ball didn't travel much. Maybe I was expecting too much out of one of the best batmakers.

My bat doesn't sound great but she goes. It's a Gray Nicholls Oblivion Carbo, makes a nasty crack sound out of the middle, not dissimilar to my Taylormade driver when I hit that.
-
Has to be GM Apex 101 top Kashmir willow! the guy wielding it was mahoosive, and it was a harrow and it snapped like a twig!
-
Our spinner/allrounder has used a delaminated Icon 808 all year. Everyone told him it was broken in May. He's just come round to the fact he may need a new 'un...

You don't happen to play for West Wittering do you? I remember you saying you were in the Newbery shop the other day, so fairly local to me (Shoreham).
The worst bat I heard this season was a Gray Nichs Oblivion Carbo owned by one of their openers, it sounded as if the handle was coming away from splice.

Nope not me I'm afraid. Must be an Oblivion thing then!
-
Yeah must be. Is the sound quite tinny?
-
No it's not particularly tinny, but it is a very harsh crack. Hard to describe really!

its a gn carbo handle thing, I had one and seen a couple more. they have all sounded terrible
-
Dynadrive, went okay but sounded absolutely dreadful, it must have even it's first outing of the season, that or he hadnt had the chance to use it
-
I played against a bat using a Gray Nicholls Legend, sounded horrible. Didn't help that the batsman couldn't get it off the square. Painful.
-
Oh. A guy using a horrible, horrible Hunts. Got to 40 with it sounding rotten. Changed it for a Big Kahuna and smashed it. Definitely a case of bat not batsman here...

Hanham opener?

It's got to be my bat (Its a Matrixxx that I inherited from our Bangledeshy overseas a few years ago). It got a v shape split running from the end of the splice down the blade in the first third of the season. I had the lads from Steyning taking the mickey out of it all innings early on in the season. I had it looked at by the guy who has made a bat for me, he glued it and I've used it the whole season whilst I have been waiting for him to finish making a new bat for me. It still goes like a bullet but can sound very odd !
Still knocking in the new bat as I only got that about four weeks ago.

anyon ever have one of the grays nics with the titanium handle. POss an EVO carbo I think it was. They sounded terribl, nothing like a normal bat

I think everyone's being a bit harsh on GN Carbos. I use a GN Evo Carbo (must be about 2 years old now) and it makes a beautiful noise when it comes off the middle - pity that isn't too often - I knocked it in well before use and it doesn't sound any different from any other bats I've played against
