Love the newbery tour and wondering if anyone has one and can share some photos ? Or at least tell me what the pick and feel is like
Much appreciated

Used my mates, the pickup is, different lets say. Will take some getting used to but it's a lovely bat.

Ive picked up a tour as well as making a version myself. from what i can remember the tour picked up ok. I think it depends on how fussy you are as a cricketer. if your the kind of guy who can pick up a bat and use it straight away (as long as its in the same weight as you normal use) then it will be fine. if it takes you a while to adjust to a new bat then its gonna take a few nets

The 2 i have seen in action have pinged very very nicely

Ok thanks guys !
So if I generally use a 2.9 bat ?
Should I buy a 2.8 tour ?
To compensate for the pick up ?

There is nothing better than going to a shop and trying a few to get a feel of some in hands. Obviously, that's if you have access to somewhere that sells them. I must say, I have an idea in my head about what I want but I go on feel of a bat rather than specific makes / models. If it feels good and taps up nicely then you are on to a winner.

Yes I love to go on the feel of a bat rather than the weight
But I live in Australia and don't have access to one.. Which is a real shame..
I'm tossed up between the Tour and the Krakatoa

Unless the bat was an unbelievable offer in a sale I would never buy a bat now without first picking it up.
-
That is a shame. I know people get bats from abroad on the forum, but you are going to spend an awful lot of money on something that may not suit you. For the money, get something custom made.

The feel is different to any other bat but if you love it you will never find a better bat if you hate it you wont be able to justify the money people spend on the. I however am somewhere in the middle :D

All valid points .. Thanks guys !
But even if the bat is a flop for me it's about 200 Aussie dollars cheaper than buying one over here... The new kudos looks nice !

It's the kind of bat that feels strange and bottom heavy, but apply a 2nd grip and it suddenly feels lovely and balanced. We've done this for a couple of customers recently and had very positive feedback. The lightest Tour I've ever seen has been 2.9. We had a couple in this weight recently but they didn't last long! In terms of mallet response, no bat has impressed me more than the Tour this year, and my colleagues always love it when we get to knock them in - they ping like crazy from the very first mallet hit, and right along to the edges too...

Thanks Paul !
Very helpful think I'm going with the new kudos
