Title: Question on newbery handles
Post by: jgr on September 19, 2013, 06:19:37 PM
Are all newbery handles the same shape . I like a handle with a chunky bottom hand wider than the upper part of the handle . I have come across some mjolnirs with this handle shape . What are the handle shapes on the other newberys?

the new Mjolnir seems to have a round handle, or at least the one we have currently does.  As far as I'm aware, all the rest of the range is oval, or at least semi-oval...

When I was in a shop a while back , I picked up a few newberys and a couple seemed to have quite extreme ovals towards the base of , whereas some were hardly exaggerated at all , but all the ones I saw were at least slightly oval , so I guess they just do a small variation on the extremity!

They are also pretty thin. Two grips at least!

Yes, they are thin, especially the Tomahawk!

The chevron grips don't help matters too - couldn't agree more about the two grips!
