Hi guys, to add one last bat to my collection I have admired for a while I decided to get myself a B3.
I spoke to Dave on Monday and this was with me today. I explained that i wasn't going to be his fussiest customer and that I wanted a bat with really minimal concaving 2.9 fully dressed, with a long spine mid positioned middle and generous edges. Dave explained that a standard shape comes in at almost my exact spec, the Db2 is I think I'm right the JT profiled bat and with. My request we would take the spine all the way into the toe.
I was shown some clefts that matched what I wanted to spend and this bad boy just stood out, even has the little cosmetic blemish to add character, I just asked Dave if this was the best response off the mallet and was told it was so just went with Dave opinion. Choose a semi oval handle, larger at the bottom with 2 grips and picked the lime green stickers and lime grip.
Here she is, this will be my last purchase until my Kook and GN stuff is available from vitas from the 2014 collection.

Well his name was probably the first mentioned so no surprise Chris has acquired yet another good looking stick!

May I be the first to say "yeah, righto..." to that? :)

Honestly I a trying not to buy anymore at the present time, partly because there isn't much more left lol. There are a couple of forum sponsors bats I haven't tried yet and may contact them over winter.
-
Looks great, hopefully it goes for you!
-
I do love D3 bats.
Wish I could afford one!

Following on from my 2 stripe I contacted Dave again at B3 to see if they had any real bargains left over from there 1st birthday bash last weekend. Dave was very prompt and asked what I was looking for and I was so impressed with the DB2 profile that I would be happy with another. Dave sent me through some pics and I choose this lovely little beauty. It's a 1 series but I was looking for something I could net with over the winter as a lot of the bats I have acquired recently have been new and quite expensive and where we net does not always bounce that high so didn't want to take the chance with some £200+ bats.
Anyway this is 2.8 exactly on the nose so Dave tells me and feels like it to be honest, was really impressed with the feel of my existing DB2 and this is just as good. Also the finishing is top notch. As you can see this has straight and evenly spaced grains and they run straight through the toe. Also really love the thick oval handle on the B3 bats and to me this makes them feel amazing in the hands.
Also had a half hour net with the 2 stripe tonight and must say the performance after just an hour or so of knocking in was excellent. This profile really does seem to have a huge, long middle. Very pleased indeed.

Yea I have dealt with Dave and Rob on my 2 bats and must say I have been really impressed with how easy they are to deal with and easy to talk to. Don't worry about the copper stickers. They have stopped making them as we'll now I believe. Yea I don't want to know how many I have bought recently. One waiting on one more to arrive which should be here on Monday then I'm done for this year I think.

Been very impressed with the affinity bats I have seen on the forum but they do also seem to all have been on the heavier weight side. Be good to see yours as well.

. They are on the heavier side but if you speak with Marcus he will go out off his way to find the right cleft for you my carbine is 2.8 and a real gun off a bat and the service you get is brilliant

Yummy pieces of willow, the new one has some nice butterfly.
One right across the toe is unusal but even better, the one on the face looks like a frog :D
-
You, Simon and chad are all huge buyers!!
I've cut down this year on buying bats! But you have all certainly made up for it, and then some!!
Between the 3 of you, there have been some awesome willow flying around!! :D
-
The DB2 isn't the JT profile as that has no concave and more weight at the shoulder but it's not far removed. I'll post some pics of mine later on
-
Did you go for the crown cleft out of interest
-
Mine is yes
-
when i went yesterday i think they had about 15-20 crown clefts left and they do look very very nice indeed, but so did a lot of the bats in the main room, some bargains for around 160-200,
As for the trott bat its massive just doesn't look right at all, but you know its going to go.

Did you see the SB bat there too?
-
I did indeed see a bat for sb and in all honesty i thought it was a kids bat, just didn't look at all what i expected, from an attacking lower order batsman.
