SG have changed stickers on some of their bats for 2009/10. This particular model is from new Sehwag range maybe replacin his VS 319 its called sg combat 1000 n their's aslo combat 8000 and 5000 in this range, i have seen the new SG sunny tonny it has new improved look n everythin.
-
The stickers look ghastly, they look all edge. No middle.

Site has been updated if anyone cares.

lol, I looked at it today but thought I will mention it later. great minds think alike!
New gear looks nice. Silver Hilite gloves look great but pads should be silver not red. and they are like last years so a bit poor there. Keeping stuff is also the same, just some minor details changed. Liking the traditional range though
-
quite like the King Cobra and Phoenix Players bats. Hilite gloves look very nice.
-
all looks pretty good gear, Sg have been making pretty good stuff for a long time now

It is a pity that they are giving preference to their contract business with Kookaburra and Adidas over theirs. On my recent visit to India, of the 14 retailers I visited only 4 had SG (and therefore Kookaburra) bats. All the others complained that they did not get bats on time and sometimes (rare) not up to the mark. However, all stocked SG cricket balls especially the TEST which is by far the best ball available in the market.
I found the BDM Ambassador white cricket ball a shade better than the SG TEST White

From what I understand SG also can't sell in England due to the supply deals with Kooka and Adidas
-
its really annoying, there gear is cheap and good

Tom, are you sure about this? It would do not think they will agree to such a clause, not bat maker will/should....but no one knows..... money talks.....
Very harsh to give someone elses business preference over your own.... especially when you are the best...
-
SG have Huge market share in India so not being allowed to sell in the UK will not have them to worried.

not very cheap mate. the exchange rate of INR 72/73 to 1GBP + postage and VAT
the top of the range King Cobra will cost GBP 164 + £20 post + £25 VAT = £209!! (or £189 if you r lucky to escape VAT)
But £189 for a bat with no back-up service!!!
They quality is top class (probably best from a Indian company), better off getting a custom from Mike, Matt, Gary or Tony

Most of that market share has now gone as many retailers are not very happy with them. Moreover, SS and BDM have been very aggressive to capitalize on this .....
I strongly feel that SS and BDM are the big 2 in the Indian market now. . . .SF are coming up fast also
-
but there not the in the custom market there in the main stream and for that they have relitivly cheap prices
-
Maybe SG are not happy with some of the retailers !

there cannot be so many they are not happy with....

there cannot be so many they are not happy with....
Maybe it's a payment issue between both parties.
-
could be a outcome of may issues - payment terms, supply, etc.etc. Retailers in India dominate the business more than those in the UK or other markets. Retailers lobby/unions are very strong..... Also none of the bat makers sells direct to customers (unlike Newbery, Salix, M&H and others in the UK or SA or Aus)
But the fact remains, bith SG and their customers are at a loss....

But the fact remains, both SG and their customers are at a loss.... (not really as SG customers can purchase online and not have to worry about Fake products).

is this a company run / owned by SG? or is it just another online trader/seller?
have you (or any other) forum member had any experience / dealing with this guy ?
-
just had a look and this guy too like onlinestockist and many other is just a internet based business and prices are not updated as per SGs website.

Maybe you should study the website.

Maybe you should study the website.
maybe you should have ready my subsequent post before posting ur comments :) :)

You cannot compare between both sites. PGO deal directly with the factories or appointed distributors. Click on most of the OS buttons and you get nothing.
SG do not sell direct so the prices listed would only be a suggested guide.
-
you maybe right, but one can never be 100% sure of internet based businesses..... moreover buying a bat online does not make sense to me!
-
I have met the guys that own and run PGO and they are the real deal. They will be stocking some of my products in the new year.
-
are you changing much for next years range or keeping it pretty similar? I curently have one of your bats in my possession and i like what i see.

Bats will be of the same quality. The products I mention above ^ are for a different sport.
-
Lekka, can we have a look at some of your equipment for 2010?
-
I will post on a new thread when I have pics, this one is for New SG Bats 2009.

I agree with you. As what have you been said both SG and their customers are at a loss. But can you give some ways on how there customers will be lost?
