Who do you think is the best T20 Bowler around at the moment,
Are we thinking Pace and Bounce or Spin and guile
My vote Sunil Narine 4 for 9 against the Sunrisers and thats agood batting line up as well with some big hitting players in that team.
All opinions welcome of course

+1 for Narine
-
I agree on Sunil Narine but I would make final call once he is consistent with his performances in foreseeable future international fixture.
In past, I would say it was Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal and Shahid Afridi.
-
Malinga
-
Would have to agree that Malinga and Narine are front runners, although the best 'death' bowling in T20 I've seen was (whisper it quietly, it wasn't in the IPL, that pinnacle of quality in world cricket ;)) Thomas and Arafat for Somerset. Working in tandem, they have been the most consistent I have seen. Imagine me typing that as a comment on Cricinfo, I'm sure the BCCI would find a way from banning me from village cricket...
I think the one you'd least like to face though has to be Malinga...
-
Thomas does play ipl though doesn't he?
-
Narine has to do it for a bit longer for me. Mendis went down hill once people worked him out so il judge narine in another year.
no votes for dernbach?? :)
-
I'll vote for Dernbach, he'd be the best person to bring on if the batting side needed to up the run rate ;)

Agreed, specifically I think he's been fantastic in domestic T20 and the two of them, on several occasions, have been excellent.
Also agree that Narine needs to do it over a longer period of time...

Dernbach. Hmm strange guy. Can clearly bowl, and has attributes to be a t20 bowler. I just don't think he has the brain to pull it off when needed.
He celebrated getting finch out on 155 like he'd just won the World Cup. while the rest of the England guys barely celebrated.
Know of he'd done that a 150 runs earlier! It would have been worth a celebration.
-
Have to say i'm glad i started this debate as everyone is throwing good bowlers into the frey,
surprised no-one has mentioned Dale Steyn most dot balls in the last Ipl.
But what does it take to be the best bowler are we saying you need to bowl at 90mph in the block hole like Malinga, or pace and movement and a skiddy action like Steyn and Dernbach to a degree.
-
I think there is a difference between the best bowlers in a tight medium to low scoring game and the best bowlers in a high scoring slogfest, because the two require different skill sets.
The former, I think you'd look at the likes of Narine, Mendis, Steyn and the much maligned Broad. The latter, where it is more about the ability to take wickets of good players than the run rate, falls more to Malinga, Mitchell Johnson and the like.

Ajmal
-
Narine, Malinga and Amit Mishra with the way he has bowled lot of times.

Gul comes to the mind specially in a T20 with an old ball 4 overs in a row ..... i have never seen such control of yorks..... dont know how to post a link of youtube via mobile :P ...... i guess commentators sums that up very well in this 2 mint clip ..... Owned dhoni vs gul beamer boncer bowled !!!!! :)
-
would have to agree with Gul, but at times arafat and thomas have been unplayable in the domestic t20 comp
