Whats peoples experiences with finger injuries?
Everything online says go to Minor injuries but not sure if its need
Reckon from looking online it may be a tendon injury on the middle finger. Have broken fingers as a kid but that was a long time ago

Dunno, I've got one from mid august.
What does a tendon injury sound like? It's still twice the size in depth to my other middle finger.
Also when I bend it, rather than being flat on the first knuckle it's now pointy :S

After 3 days nagging go to minor injuries. (Mine was purple & 3 times it's normal size at the time)
It turned out if shattered the end and the bone had shifted down. It's now healed with the bone in a new place so my finger is forever going to be fatter at the end than my "normal" ones.
It's probably best you get it checked mate

I'd go to the minor injuries unit and have it checked out mate,

get it checked ................ 9 months later and I cant move my thumb. 4 xrays and 3 cortisone injections and no doctor has a clue what is wrong. Usspect i have broken my thumb but not sideways but through the end so it cant be seen on an xray.
I got hit on the end of it goalkeeping in a 5 aside match when some nutcase blasted a half volley full whack from the edge of the d straight at me. Tried to stop it but hit the end of my thumb :(
A ligament injury will have a strange reddish purple looking bruise .............. a break will be very deep purple
I have also to one of those avulsion fracture things where the tendon tears off the bone but doesnt actually snap. I had the reddish bruise for this.

Was fielding at mid off in a league game, batsmen drives wide of me to my right, Brand new ball it was racing so I dived.. Made a great stop but the agony on my right little pinky as I got up became apparent that I had done something..
Finger stayed swollen for 3 days, went to A&E, did X-Rays no breakage. Was told to hold it in a splint attached to my next (Ring) finger.
Few days in, follow up appointments suggested it is a ligament damage.. Told to wear a splint for 6 weeks and no cricket, ignored all advice and carried on playing with a splint occasionally..
Few months later, the finger is permanently bent at a 30 degree angle at full stretch. Quite annoying!
Docs have put me on a Physiotherapy course and have been informed my finger will probably never get straight again, but the slight discomfort or pain will definitely go away.
So yeah, thought I share my experience with my finger injury!
