Have to agree that recently, I've loved buying them too. I wear them as soon as I get them, and try mould them into shape haha. :-[ I think they're not as good as bats, but you can get like 5 expensive pairs of gloves in place of a bat, so it kind of balances out! Nothing quite beats getting a bat and bouncing a ball off it to see it rocket off though!

Have to say, me too. Love getting them. Bats good, gloved better. Don't know why.
-
i like to buy gloves, love the smell of them and really do like opening up a bat box and looking at a new bat.
-
Why do we buy so many gloves, Ive ordered 2 sets of the new Kook ones from Jake,
one pair is the Legend Bubble gloves,
the other the Impulse 900 gloves.
Not sure why but just really like the look of both pairs, added with my Ayrtek elites in Green and i may have a glove problem but so do many others by the sound of it.

Far from a glove problem mate. At one point a couple of years ago when I first joined here I had around 20 pairs
-
Holy Crap 20 pairs of gloves
that is some going, best pair you own????
but i'm having a tidy out as well and will be getting rid of some pads and gloves later this week, plus some shoes as well
-
I've had several fairly good pairs, Bradbury players, Ayrtek elites, Kookaburra rogue 850.
Love the Menace mittens though.

Batting spikes. It's a hangover from my football days, I was an absolute boot badger, luckily sponsorships didn't see me having to pay for any boots or my goalie gloves, but at one point I remember having 11 pairs of boots and 12 pairs of gloves on the go at once. All in outrageous colours. I used to wear new pairs around the house til they felt like a second skin, same with the goalie gloves.
I still get that same feeling when I open up a box of batting spikes, walking round the shop in my Nike lunar dominates whilst wearing a new set of wicket keeping gloves to get them feeling just right would have been quite a sight for any customer who walked in!
Can't beat the feeling of a new bit of willow in the hands, but I pick up so many new bats every day, I guess that feeling is somewhat diluted for me.

For me it has to be bats, bats, bats....
-
Bats of course.
But apart from bats - bags, gloves and grips, have to get those new GM grips look top class.
-
Nike spikes
-
Shoes definitely ... Nike or NB
-

bats are a close second but only because i dont buy it very often
-
Gloves, Easily, I really like buying and using different gloves, recently in particular. before i came on this forum i had the same GM 909's for 2 years!
-
has to be bats for me!

Anything really. Whenever I order something I get all excited and can't wait till the delivery day.
Gloves probably as I order them the most, I currently have 4 pairs all Gray Nicolls.
Spikes, sunglasses and running shoes all get me excited when I see the dispatch notice as well.
-
Gloves are the easiest 'big' purchase to justify though aren't they?

Yeah, they get the most wear out of all the kit and therefore buying two or three pairs a year is perfectly acceptable!

That's why i buy so many of them!

For me some New Balance wheels and the new B3 pads.
Wanting a new bag but can't find anything better than what I've got (sleaze gear limited edition) with spending a small fortune
-
I fancy a new pair of spikes. I've got a pair or puma running shoes that feel like slippers on my feet. I'm tempted to buy another pair of them and send them to be spiked. Works out about £85 so I can try and claim in saving money if I get asked why I'm doing it ;)

Two or three?? I think I've bought about 8 pairs in the last 10 months haha
-
Bats, pads and gloves for me.
-
I like gloves, pads and all gear. But bats are always exciting, although I am contemplating new spikes even though I have 3 or 4 pairs already!
I would normally say bats float my boat! But on this occasion I'm looking forward to finally deciding on the design of my Stretton Fox thigh pads! :D
-
Don't really enjoy buy new bats as I know I will have to knock them in and play them in.
Batting gloves I really enjoy buying as I think I can always justify them!
-
Grips. Probably because its cheaper to replace grips then bats.
-
Love new gloves. Cheaper than buying bats and more variation available very easy to store aswell. Hate buying new pads. Take up too much room and too hard to store
Also love getting new grips
-
Dunno if it's kit, but I love buying a bunch of balls. Love feeling the gloss on a brand new cherry, it's probably because I'm an opening bowler. A weird fetish indeed.
-
Has to be bats - number one for me. Love the excitement of picking out new willow - swinging it around deciding to purchase. I love going through the knocking in process and seeing the bat develop.
But love all cricket equipment - love receiving a package at work (I get all my equipment sent there). A mate that I play with and I hang out for our little packages of equipment. Pads, Gloves, grips, balls, bags, even extratec. Makes our day when something turns up.
-
I don't look forward to buying any piece of cricket equipment, because its expensive, and I'm tighter than a ducks (No Swearing Please)!
-
There is no better feeling than unboxing a bat and it being the perfect weight with perfect grains....... :D
