Not been on here for a while
Ordered a new bat for next season, decided to order it early so that I can knock it in and prepare it properly etc. Already got a bat from this company but I am going to use that in nets as I used it last season and its done me well so far.
This bat is a 2lb 9oz, slight heartwood to the edge, plenty of grains and feels like a real beauty! picks up really well!!
Just interested to hear your thoughts on the bat really? Paid £155.00 for it.

What made you chose this brand over one of the better known brands?
Any background on them?
-
Lovely looking piece of wood for the price. Hope it does you well!
-
Ive used their bats before and our club pro used a few.
Very good company and easy to deal with. I like their ethos and didnt fancy paying excessive prices charged by the bigger brands
-
I also think this bit of wood is amazing for the price. Its easily as good as some of the bats ive seen for £100 more!!
-
Superb profile - wonder who makes them, not sure if I've seen that profile before?
-
I think MattW would have something to say about that after building the reputation of Vantage.
Lovely bat. Hope all if well with the company now - though I have only heard things here.
-
Ginge - this is a Vanquish?
-
I think he was Vantage not Vanquish
-
I think that is more due to the similarity of the V logo
-
I have to say the branding is very similar to vantage
-
do you think? I think the branding is quite different!
Honestly lads I cant fault their service what so ever. Ive heard good things about them and seen a few pro's using their gear.
Obviously they aren't a big brand but that's what I look for when purchasing kit.
-
Heard? What happened to your last Vanquish? You've only had it a few weeks.

Which pros? Any chance you are involved in said brand? Does look like a good stick, but I personally think that the branding is too close to Vantage.
-
its a good price and looks to have nice grains so he probably bought it based on his old one being good .......... doesnt mean he has connections to vanquish!

Thank you! someone who talks sense! seems like whenever someone posts a bat on here that hasn't been made by a forum sponsor gets accused of being involved with said company.
As far as im concerned these guys make great bats and price them competitively. I really like the way they are trying to bring top quality kit to the market at affordable prices!
I personally don't think the stickers are anything like Vantage... only similarity is the "V" but apart from that they are very different indeed. Theres also an argument that the lettering on the back looks like a Bradbury (font) when it clearly isn't.
-
Are these U.K made ?. Loving the grains galore !

read my first post... answers your question mate.... im not the only player to have more than one bat.
-
^ same here I got accused of being a part of python cricket....because I bought 2 bats based on feel and looks .....
-
Still odd that you sent it to net bat status already, but it sometimes happens like that.

Apologies. No harm in asking the question.
So which pros use them? would be interesting to know, I wonder infact how many pros use smaller brands.
-

I haven't condemned this bat to any "Status" I just think it makes sense to use an older bat in nets as opposed to a brand new bat.
On the subject of strange, I will tell you what is strange... A forum, such as this, is in theory designed so that cricket lovers such as myself can post things, comment, share opinions and interests. That said, it seems as though this forum is merely a net in which the sponsors can catch their audience because when any other brand is mentioned administrators such as yourself seem to try and pick holes in the post.
I must clarify, in my kit bag I have two other bats: A Laver and a GM, I also have a pair of Larson pads and gloves, Asics boots and a masuri lid... oh and a kookaburra box! I am not affiliated with any of these brands.
-
This season I saw two young West Indian lads using this brand, Our club pro, a lad playing at our club for Worcestershire 2's and a few paid amateurs.
I don't think any county pro's use this brand as I cant see them being big enough to afford the money
-
still not a bad movement for a new brand. Clearly getting some sales and to the type of people who can influence future sales, not bad going.
-
I don't really know how big they are or who they are selling to etc, I just like the brand, like the way they treat their customer ie me and cant fault their bats.
The days are gone where I pay £300.00 for a bat that is basically a Grade 2 covered in over the top stickers but I ignore that because im blinded by the brand.
IMO you get better bats from the smaller brands because they can ill afford bad rep
-
really nice looking stick. good purchase.
seen a few vanquishes about. and wasn't keen on the stickers. but this one has lovely stickers.
unsure why people are accusing you off being part of the brand. as you've only merely commented that the service is good.
maybe like most they put 2 and 2 together and get 792

Do you mind me asking where you got the Larsons softs from? Feel free to PM me if that's better.
-
I got the larson softs from our club pro, we was selling a few bits and bobs of theirs. Apparently Larsons sponsored a few West Indian Under 19's at the world cup and he was one. A few of them came over to the UK to play this year and two used vanquish thats how i initially got to know about the brand. A few others used a brand called Trident

no you got "accused" because of your association on twitter - plus you claimed in your post you bought the bat of facebook blind, not on feel. You either have a link to the brand or you don't - but saying "we" in reference to a brand suggests a link...
I would rather people were honest or if their request to be a sponsor has been put on hold (not rejected) while they meet the sponsorship requirements they observe the request not to continually promote their brand.
sorry for my continued grumpiness and any perceived bias against a particular brand - as an admin team we try to be consistent and fair to all.

Fair point i understand that you are trying to be fair to all. I am honestly nothing to do with Vanquish, I like their bats and they are great to deal with that is all. Im sure all of the forum sponsors are great too.
-
Buzz is referring to the brand I have set up and Toenails97 having a connection. Totally incorrect but they seem to persist with it because he used the word 'we'. Hopefully when he does his gcse's the examiners aren't so pedantic.
I live in a different country and I have a person in UK that stores and distributes our kit after I have inspected each bat.
