I just bought my new choice willow "stock" bat yesterday it was made by Gary Sanford the in-house bat maker. It has 17 grains and cost me just £280. It should have cost £500 but they could not shift it at that price great piece of willow.

I don't think the bat was £500 mate.
£500 was for the package deal

Garry bats say recommend retail price is 500 for test but his price is 280 he won't sell the pretorian below 350 and that's just for the bat I paid 500 for the bat pads gloves and bag so 280 is their normal price for a test grade and then 350 for the pretorian
-
this bat had around 5-7 more grains than the usual test willow
-
Get some pics up and we can all see for ourselves...

Is that not the back?
I think it looks like the heartwood that makes it look like the back?
I think it's probably the face of the bat with lots of heartwood?
He makes very good bats!

I was in the shop when you bought it. Had you not got it I'd have bought it myself. I did say to Simon I'd offer £281
