Hi Lads,
I am chasing a large cricket bag. Am taking the keeping gloves this season and bag is bursting too much gear.....Need something that will hold a couple of bats, couple of pairs of batting gloves, uniform, pads, helmet, keeping pads and gloves and a couple of pairs of shoes. What are peoples recommendations? I dont want something that is going to go all saggy, preferably a stand up/framed style bag that will hold its shape and not be a pain in the (No Swearing Please) to get around. Im in OZ but not against brands that I can only get in the UK.
Cheers blokes!

IMHO I would say the top kook bag is my favorite all be it to big for my needs. If they made it slightly smaller with the same layout I would be going for one of them. :)
-
I'm in exactly the same situation, albeit in the UK.
I've found the gray nics nitro to be lacking, so I'm going for the GM original top of the range bag. Big enough for all kit and keeping gear, rigid compartments and can be used flat or standing up.
i would think GCCC will have them in stock?
-
Ahh ok. Not sure on the kook range didnt like the looks of it here! GM Original is one I was looking at. One of the lads has a gray nics Legend but its $190. That doesnt worry me too much if its quality and will last, but thought I would see if there are any alternatives before I take the plunge. GCCC have both the GM original and the Legend in stock.

I've just got one of these M&H T2. The review shows wicket keeping gear packed as well, but my view would be that it would be a bit tight. As the guy says you need to be methodical and have a system. However, I'm not a keeper so the bag is plenty big enough. Maybe worth a look.

Postage is 60 quid. Which still makes it a cheaper bag than the GN Legend posted to OZ. Massive fan of the colour haha anyone used one before?

Not sure where in Oz you are mate, but there's a mob in Melb called Icon who have some massive bags & around $125. Couple of blokes at my club have them & they look pretty sweet. Quality this year has improved massively.
-
The T1 bag is very nice, but you will need a massive boot as the bag is huge and sturdy. Top quality bag tho
-
Im in Central QLD so will have to get any purchase delivered. Size is no issue - here in Australia we drive utes....tonnes of space and no such thing as a boot :)

Top of the line GM Original LE Duplex would be a good choice. Its a very sturdy bag with lots of compartments and pockets to keep everything organised.
-
Yeah I have to say I like my GM Original LE Duplex bag - although it does have its shortcomings. It has a bat cave for two bats, but I think the storage is a bit lacking. It has three 'pockets' on the outside which just open up to the bag and aren't actually pockets and one major separate storage area on the top of the bag which could hold a uniform, jumper and a four pack of JD and coke. That said I like that it stays upright and you can fit two sets of pads, gloves, helmet, shoes, box, thigh guard plus the two bats.
I also like my Aero Stand Up Tour bag - although even that has its shortcomings. It holds two sets of everything, has a three bat cave (which I love) and plenty of external pockets for gloves, balls etc. The only shortcoming of this one is that it opens from the top and it doesn't have side access. Other than that - it is a great bag.
I sourced both bags in Aus - although they are both a bit pricey!

My local cricket shop has got a Warsop platinum bag and the thing is massive, the biggest bag I have ever seen and only £65. I honestly put my little daughter in there and could have still put all my cricket gear in there lol
It has padded bat cave for 3 bats, split lid, wet clothes area, 4 outside pockets and a pull out travel handle in my opinion the best large bag on the market. I am going to order one this week.

Liking the sound of room for three bats! Not sure it would fit in my boot though lol

Even though we're not stocking them, I really like the new Spartan bags, and they are somewhat massive too...
Otherwise, I think the M&H T1 is the obvious choice and has been, by far, our biggest seller in this category, which speaks volumes I think. Sadly we have completely sold out, and shipping one of these to Oz would be around £100 anyway, which is a lot more than the bag itself!!

I'm sure it would as its basically a big cardboard box so would be a perfect fit for a boot unless your boot isn't very deep

Do you happen to have the dimensions of it mate? Depth/height shouldn't be an issue, my wheels take up half the boot so it's more an issue of width/length (typical male problem really!)

92cm long 42cm high and 55 cm wide, looks huge when I saw it in the shop, would fit all y softs batting and keeping in the bottom area alone. Check it out on Warsop website.

Cheers Chris
It should fit in my boot but anyone who wants a lift will have to have a bag (or bags) on their lap haha.
Can I use cricket gear as an excuse to get a new car?? :D
