Title: Calibre 4000 Pads
Post by: uknsaunders on October 09, 2013, 02:29:04 PM
I took a punt on the Prodirect Cricket Sale and brought some very affordable Calibre 4000 Pads. For once no drama's with PD and they were tracked all the way to the front door. I opened them up and got exactly what was described - Mens Calibre 4000 pads:-

Very nice pads. I have form with Puma Pads, owning a Youth Kinetic 4000 pair from 2011. Have to say the 2011 pair feel better quality, the top hat is PVC not cotton and the similar fabric has been used on backing to the front pad, as opposed to some more rugged weave on the 2011. The instep/knee boosters looks similar apart from the central one being cotton again. Says PVC free on the Calibre 4000 and I guess that's why. Only other thing I noticed was the knee support was thicker and the pad in general went a bit further round the leg, not surprising given its an adult size. Does it fit my legs, just about, my knees just come up to the knee bolster but the top hat feels a little high. I think a bit of walking around tonight is required.

Mussaduq - I paid £19 including postage.

smokem - The pads weigh 691 grams.

Liam - To cover my costs it would cost me £19+postage ,which would be silly.buy them direct - http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Products/Puma-Calibre-4000-Right-Hand-Batting-Pad-Batting-Equipment-WhiteMagnetoOrange-Spark-40113.aspx (http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Products/Puma-Calibre-4000-Right-Hand-Batting-Pad-Batting-Equipment-WhiteMagnetoOrange-Spark-40113.aspx)

My other puma pads were 2 strap so no real issues.

I prefer two strap.  I find the newer versions straps are generally longer than they used to be.
