Title: Recommendations.
Post by: Torque on October 13, 2013, 01:45:53 PM
Hi Guys,

I recieved my match bat back from Salix this week and want to prolong its life for as long as possible.

Is there any other protection you recommend to keep it going as long as possible, it currently has a scuff sheet and edge tape on, is there anymore I can do?

Thanks in advance.

looks like you are hitting the ball in the right area that's for sure. I have been told that horizontal cracking like that is a sign of a very good bat, my match bat has the same cracks and its a real pinger.

I would think Salix have sanded and glued the face, i don't think you will need to do anything to it just yet, just keep an eye on it and keep middling it :)

I agree with Mike, there's not a lot ypu can do, just keep an eye on it. It will probably start to delaminate again so might need a little glue in it at some point. It's easy to do yourself just get some pva glue and add a little water to it.  Thin it down a little so it reaches all the little cracks and crevices.

Do you have any pics of what it looked like before it went away to Salix?

It actually looks to me like super glue in the cracks. I have been told that is the best stuff to use when sealing face cracks like this.

If you don't mind me asking, how old is the bat?
