Title: My Stretton Set
Post by: SOULMAN1012 on October 27, 2013, 12:53:25 PM
After meeting George at the Vitas net session yesterday I walked away with a set of Foxy Stretton thigh pads and arm guard. I will be honest and say I had always been a bit sceptical about these due to the high price tag compared to P1 or P2 from Aero. Any way yesterday whilst batting at the Vitas session I got hit on the inside thigh twice and in the area just inside the groin that is not covered by a P2 or indeed the standrad inner guard I was wearing at the net session.

I spoke to George and what really impressed me was the ease with which you can mould these to your shape. The inner thigh pad also comes in a around your inner thigh to offer great protection. The outer thigh pad fits very well and is a little thinner than a Aero thigh set and they are also quite light. I did do the obligatory hitting your self with a bat mallet or should I say Mr Saunders took great pleasure in smashing a wooded mallet into my thigh and although you do still notice it now where compared to what happen when I got hit wearing a normal thigh pad.

The arm guard was included as a little forum day gift and George is going to send me the small straps for it. You also get a load of the elastic straps to play about with and get the Strettons to fit as you want them too. Here are some pics

Very nice mate, finding myself very tempted to get a set of these for myself!
Will you actually use the arm guard?? If not I know someone who'll give it a good home  ;)

In all honesty mate no I very much doubt I will use it. I may pass it on to the good home for a good price mate :)

It's some collection your putting together Chris!

Did anyone front up to the bowling machine minus a bat yesterday in addition to the mallet test?

That would be a nice Brucie bonus although getting caught done the leg side and it sounding edgey would not be so good

mine have been a great purchase, after years of wasting money on thighpads, i won't be buying any more for a long time!

you know you have a few things right when the pro with his sponsored kit prefers your stash...!

Chris, these pads will last longer in your kitbag than any of your other kit.

That was another thing George promised me that these will last years and years and apparently to clean them you can just put them in a pillow case and put in washing machine which having tried with a set of P2's a few years ago is a great bonus, the areo's were never the same after.

Really? I washed my aero p2 pads twice this year and not a problem at all. You did take the padding out? ;)

Yea course I'm not that blonde (well actually I have no hair) they just felt awful after and and nothing seemed to feel the same, only washed at 20 degrees as well.

My set is great and they just get more comfortable and more comfortable each time I wore them. The service George provides is second to none. Enjoy your Foxy guards, it's a great investment.
