Post by: Silver Bullet on October 28, 2013, 06:43:30 PM
Hi,

looking for a new custom or off the shelf grade 1 bat delivered to Canada in under 300 dollars.

Is this even possible ?

Apologies If I'm posting this on the wrong forum.

Those two may be within your budget. :) I'm sure some forum sponsors will also have some things that they can offer!

What are Hammer prices like? Should be cheaper postage than from the UK I would guess.

I would be interested in a Hammer if they weren't priced like they're M&H. The Fyre is priced at $299, which I find ridiculous for that bat.

Forgot to mention - I'm looking for a T-20 bat for more of a classical 50 over/ Test player.

2lb 8 to 2lb 10 weight.

Some retail stores are VAT registered, so you get around 16.7% off I think! Taking into account shipping, which will be around £35, your best bet is to look for a G1 bat which is listed at around 290 CAD (172 GBP). If you subtract the VAT and add on the shipping, it should cost you around 300 CAD. Hope this helps!

Based on what you've described, I think an Uzi is your best bet if you want a T20 styled bat for a 50 over player. You may be able to find a Players grade Uzi, which is G2, but if you go with a retailer who hand picks their bats, you're more likely to get one which performs really well. :)

In terms of custom bats, the Bulldog Cricket SpiriT20 and H4L Hellfire would be a solid bet.

Also speak to John @ Red Ink or the guys at Blankbats. They are doing some great things with willow right now.

Based on weight and shape, I think this would be a great option for you: http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/cricket-bats-c17/senior-cricket-bats-c18/newbery-tt-5-star-cricket-bat-p688 (http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/cricket-bats-c17/senior-cricket-bats-c18/newbery-tt-5-star-cricket-bat-p688)

As Chad said, you'd get VAT off, and we charge £25 to ship a bat to Canada.  This means that the total cost, including shipping, would be just £154.16, which on the current exchange rate is 260.53 Canadian dollars.

This was one of the bats we hand-picked from Newbery a fortnight ago, and in my opinion, was one of the best bats they had there at the time...

Please PM if this is of interest.  Thanks!
