I love the V389, Predator Max and the Puma Ballistic gloves

I think the Predator Max's stickers are nice, but cover too much of the back.  The V389 looks lovely as usual, and so does the Puma Iridium- love the stickers but not the name!

New Thigh pads from GN.

Also got some Newbery kit and Puma Ballistic gloves to upload later. Glad you like it anyway, from now on my finds like this are exclusives on here  :P

i like the new gray nicolls thigh pads are the just available in australia or can you get them over here in the uk i think they look better than the aero strippers

Puma Ballistic Gloves

Woodworm are also releasing their gear in Aus, I believe with grades including Platinum, Titanium (not sure we get this in Uk) Gold and Silver.

Ew, what have they done with those new puma gloves!

Was looking at the meulemans website and the price of the new GN bats is crazy, bloody expensive!

Not to keen on most of the soft goods though, will probably stick to xxx2 soft goods or english soft goods!

Post by: Nozza on June 29, 2008, 09:14:27 AM
Ha ha i will give 3 guesses at who the GN have taken the idea for their thigh pads off! lol!

Love the keeping gloves and Slaz V8
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: E-Unit on June 29, 2008, 10:57:17 AM
They look better then Aero, doesnt actually look to similiar to be honest, as they have gotten rid of the crap hip protector.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: skippy on June 29, 2008, 08:52:56 PM
wth they certainly look nowhere near as good as aero! They look cheap and tacky compared to the classy aeros
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Sambo on June 30, 2008, 05:35:31 AM
hey noz 3 guesses is being a bit generous isnt it? i like them though the seem a little less 'flimsy' that the aeros. i think the circles are hotplates on the ballistic. Go for those cold english days when the fingers are frozen solid. nah they are probably bits of hard plastic.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Nozza on June 30, 2008, 08:24:23 AM
The double teared structure on the front leg really puts me off. It is just so poor.

I mean they have ripped off the aero idea beyond belife.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: E-Unit on June 30, 2008, 10:46:50 AM
Hmm having a closer look if they had just had one large thigh pad on the front leg it would be much better, I just hate aeros hip protectors..
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Howzat on June 30, 2008, 06:17:07 PM
Its so annoying how they have copied aero. I doubt they will sell very well though
Title: Re: New Australian Gear

Not a fan of the thigh pads, like the County gear and Puma bats. But those dots on the Ballistics look terrible.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Howzat on July 01, 2008, 01:08:36 PM
I dont like the puma bat and agree the dots on ballistics are woeful! Slazenger is the best looking by far

i like all that kit, i love the puma but hate the name
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: stevie on July 01, 2008, 05:36:41 PM
I actually like all the kit epecially the new puma bat. I really dislike the keeping gloves though as the dots just look rubbish. The stickers on the new puma bat i think are lovely. Also like the white lightning pads.

Is the fusion 2 even any different to the first one lol!? ???

Tom are the WK gloves 4000 or 5000 as the boys at GCCC told me the 4000's were blue?
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Marcussjd9 on July 01, 2008, 09:25:48 PM
The Only Difference I See On The Fusion Is The Cancer Logo On Our Top Left. The Bats Right Shoulder. ( Guessing Related To McGrath?)
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Tom on July 01, 2008, 09:33:22 PM
There's a small 2 under the Fusion sign and I thought the gloves were 4000, may be wrong as these are only sneak previews.

Post by: Sambo on July 01, 2008, 10:16:28 PM
nah the ribbon on the f2 has been there for about a year in aus. might be new for u guys. Maybe its there now as roy and hayden did a breast cancer raising thing with GN. This was only meant to go a season, but they continued it and its still going

Post by: Tom on July 02, 2008, 09:12:03 PM
Not sure Ciaran, it may be an idea to email GCCC or Kingsgrove and ask. They may well have the gear in stock, just not updated websites.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: skipper on July 02, 2008, 11:03:16 PM
Kingsgove have a little bit of grey nic and slaz gear, most should be in by later this month.

The fusion 2 has a cane handle only, it's sales gimmick is the anti vibration dampner ie the rubber (No Swearing Please). I have a feeling those 2 strap nitro pads are junior only, there has been a version of them out for the last 5 years or so.

What Nebery stuff do you have to upload Tom ? SPS range  ...
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: BrianLara400* on July 03, 2008, 05:04:10 AM
Has anyone seen the GN 'Legend'?, I Think it slots into their range amongst the custom's and the LE's which will give you an idea of the price bracket it will occupy. It was the only bat amongst all the samples that bordered on something Id use. It looks just like the GN customs but instead has a Gold and Chrome horizontal oval below the splice sticker that has legend written across it. It picked up nicely and had allot of meat (a 'bulbouss' Stu K profile) but obviously was made of a fairly sparse cleft. As for the majority of the other bats they were fairly bland.

They will be made to order BL, and expect to pay around the $900 mark.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: BrianLara400* on July 03, 2008, 10:50:46 AM
expect to pay around the $900 mark.
I didnt even remotely want one and that still knocked the wind from my lungs!
Skipper where did you come across the RRP?

Is this getting utterly ridiculous to anybody else? I though it was excessive (amongst other things) when bats started cracking the $600 AUD mark a few seasons back, purely on the basis they sported a players name if little else.

If GN can justify selling bats of the quality that they are for the prices that they are, then any  handcrafting podshaver worth his salts should be a veritable millionare!
Instead why are we 'dying' out?(rhetorical)

Post by: maXXed on July 03, 2008, 01:02:08 PM
So much of that kit is so nice! Dots on the Puma batting gloves look tripe, but keeping ones look good! Love the Puma Iridium, and the nitro pads look good.

Also, the GN 'Strippers' look awesome, maybe the hip bit might be a bit bulky?

Oh, and Tom... Where the bloody hell do you find all this??!!

I Would love to see the new newbery range, cause my sameriu is now . . .  dead, maybee send it off to refurb or replace it with one of the new austrailian brands, and tom do you the retail prices ?
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Tom on July 03, 2008, 05:55:58 PM
The pics of the Newbery stuff is very poor quality and I'm not sure if it's even new, it looks similar to last years. I may upload anyway later.

Retail prices I do know, for which item in particular?

And how did I find it? Just spent a while searching and looking.

Post by: maXXed on July 04, 2008, 07:15:52 PM
With regard to the Newbery kit, Newbery have a completely separate 'division' in Aus, and the Hove guys know very little about the kit, it seems. I think the stickers are ok, but the UK ones are still winners :D

The Puma Iridum bat looks lush, odd two-strap design on the pads, and the gloves are not bad.

Keeping kit, do those holes really go all the way through?! The gloves look great as well, but I think they need a change in design next year
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Vaughany on July 04, 2008, 09:25:30 PM
I would imagine that there R&D came up with something like the previous FLextechs were not breathable enough and they retained too much moisture, and why do they have the equivalent of a knee bolster below the knee part?

hey, just a little feeling. I think puma might be scrapping the stealth range for the iridium. don't take this as a rock solid thing. it;s just an estimated guess
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: stevie on July 16, 2008, 08:42:49 AM
Yeah i think they will Sambo as didn't they bring out the Stealth range for Watson and now as he is no longer sponsered byPuma it would make sense for them to scrap it.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Tikolo on July 16, 2008, 01:59:13 PM
But why would he be using the Iridium Gloves if hes no longer sponsored by Puma
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Tom on July 16, 2008, 07:53:40 PM
He might not want to buy gloves, so is using his left over gear from Puma only covered up.

I imagine he'll get sponsorship soon enough from someone, if he doesn't he needs a new agent.
Title: Re: New Australian Gear
Post by: Master Blaster on July 16, 2008, 11:59:39 PM
Yesterday I went to Kingsgrove Sports to check out some bats. And I came across all the bats mentioned on the first page. The Puma Iridium is probably the best out of the lot. I picked up all the bats except the Slazengers. The County White Lightning is suprisingly good it had nice clean grains and the wood was clean it retails at $200AUD (97 pounds)
