Title: Our Handpicking Visit To GN - With Photos
Post by: Vitas Cricket on November 11, 2013, 06:30:22 PM
Hi all,

If you are an Ashes pre-order customer then you will already know our handpicking date with Gray Nics. If you don't, i suggest checking your emails/private message inbox ;)

We are visiting Robertsbridge on Thursday, the 14th of November. We will be handpicking all of our stock bats as well as carefully selecting the perfect bats for our pre-order customers and arranging lovely clefts made to the specs of the people going for something a bit special with a custom made.

We wil return to the shop on Thursday evening with more GN bats than we have ever ordered before in tow, and no doubt some wonderful examples of quality hand picked willow.

There is still time for a last minute pre-order to ensure you get a bat handpicked by yours truly, Robin will be there too, but he'll be too busy grinning like a Cheshire cat at every bat he picks up.....

So if you are tempted by a 2014 GN, please PM me for a chat. Still happy to accept a minimum £50 non-refundable deposit before Thursday with the balance payable whenever the bat is ready to be shipped. I'll offer free knocking in, and as ever FREE DELIVERY.

Jake

No :(

Bought gladiator gloves and a grips :(

I so wanted a blank BAS/TON Gladiator/Black Mamba PRO, but they were all in excess of £250.

Starting my new venture so money is tight :(

I bought my TON gloves at the Internet price ( actually £5 more as I picked up the 2012 pair instead of 2013) so thought the everything else was the same. Lol my mistake

It's a little out of the way from us to make regular trips. We may go again for restocking in pre season or early season, depending on how many bats we sell from our initial order.

We handpick every bat we source from Kookaburra, Hunts, B&S and TON (though this may change as TON have relocated a bit further away from us) thanks to our close proximity to their facilities.

Just a little bump on this. Still happy to take any last minute pre-orders and pick a bat to your specifications.

Will be providing some photos and updates from our Robertsbridge tour diary when we return.

We will only be taking bats back with us. Won't have enough room for anything else. I will inform the forum when the remaining softs and bags etc arrive to us.

Can't wait to see what you come back with. Which model bat was the most popular on the pre-order and which model do you anticipate will sell well?

Most popular bats based on pre-orders were the Oblivion E41 and the Powerspot.

I think once people see the shape then the Powerbow Generation X will be very popular too.

The Nemesis had more interest than expected, we are getting 3 custom made for people, with a few for shop stock.

Hello all,

As expected, plenty of lovely bats to choose from, indeed some are not even in stock yet as they are being processed after arriving at the GN shipping facility in Hastings, so when VKS & IJC visit there will be bats that myself and Asad have not seen, certainly this is the case with the Powerspot which unfortunatley was not available in time for our visit. I do plan to return to get some for our pre-order customers.

Anyway, the Oblivion E41 LE everyone is referring to was picked for a forum member, who also pre-ordered a Powerbow Gen X LE, this probably means he knows who he is and he may identify himself if he wishes, lovely bat.

I don't have as many pictures as i hoped as the ever reliable iphone once again prevailed and the battery lasted all day (sarcasm)

We took some bats back with us, others were left to be processed through GN's system and sent to us in a few days as we added them to our initial order. We took probably the same amount again compared to our initial order. So many lovely bats, even right down the range. The Powerbow Gen X Strike i have picked for a pre-order customer is a ridiculous piece of wood for 80 quid.

I am uploading some snaps of our day at the moment, will be posted here shortly.

I've also been out of the loop for a few hours as i went to see Greg Davies stand up at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. While i was in there our twitter crashed after Darren Gough replied to one of our tweets, resulting in an influx of new followers and tweet notifications.

A nice early 7am departure from Peterborough for us today. On busy days like this, it is important to eat well. ;)

After arriving i had a quick snoop at the trees that had recently arrived.

From there it was into the stock rooms, here is Robin chatting with Ian Ellis, the man with one of the coolest jobs in the sport in my opinion.

Robin managed to talk Ian into letting us into the pro cupboard to pick out a bat for himself.

Bat racks in the main stockroom packed with lovely willow.

Not sure what was going on here....!

A couple of little oddities/interesting bits that i came across while i was wandering about.

Couple of nice ones :)

A couple of snaps of some of the trolleys as our order starts to come together.

Best way to end a top day out in Sussex? Unfortunately we didn't quite have the 'balls' for the cocktail.

Some of the bats that we have taken back to the shop with us. The rest will follow very soon. As well as the Oblivion E41 LE that caused the twitter meltdown.

Great day out, I must extend our thanks to GN for being such accomodating hosts.

Powerbow Gen X 5 star, 2'10. This is one of the nicest mid range GN bats in stock currently in my opinion, aside from ones that were pre-ordered and so never went onto the shelf.

We have some more lovely 4 and 5 star bats coming next week, but for now, here is some bat porn.
