Not sure I was just seeing if anyone has had any think like this in their kookaburra bat :)

My brothers Aussie bubble has DP on it, guessing it's the bat maker?
-
Is this your Bubble you've posted pictures of or a different bat mate??

never known kookaburra to do that as it's not on my other bat it a very nice stick that pings like a gun but just interested me about the letters

It's my new bat I am so happy with it just interested me as I got three kookaburra and never seen this before
-
What model did you get mate? I have reason to believe that all 1000's and up are made in Aussie.
-
Could it be Ryan James Harris that's all I could think off but what bats does he use ?
-
Graynics in the last Ashes, hence my post above.
-
Harris is GN.. Well he was.. but DP on my one? I'm thinking its a maker
-
Anything to do with Richard Hadlee?

That's what I thought just seemed a bit odd the with the stamp I don't know if any one will know what it means but if it was meant for him I am a lucky boy

-

Dat Podshaver?? ;)
-
Dipak Patel, another NZ cricketer initials?
According to wikipedia (so probably false) the only two Bubble sponsors are Haddin and Paine. Same last initials as you are on about... Coincidence?

Very true just wondered how it get though kookaburra and sold on to a retailer I must admit it belt good from ball one and the bat is very soft pressed

Could be an unknown player. I know of a few NZ players who are sponsored and no on one here would know there names. Could be a county player or an overseas player.

The only name which I could come up with was ryan James Harris

Most pro bats that make it to retail carry an actual surname rather than initials. I've seen two or three from players who are very well known and also some obscure ones.
To answer some of your other questions, pro bats usually make it to retail as a result of the player rejecting them, or feeling he already has enough, ie they make five for example and he only wants 4.
I would suspect that the letters are code, and match up to a key somewhere, either an indication on who made the bat, or when, or both.
Out of interest mate, why did you import an Australian Bubble, which as far as I can see is a Ricochet with the word 'Bubble' on the stickers? Obviously if it's a nice stick and you are happy then great, but I'm sure myself or one of the other forum retailers could have got you a great Ricochet or a 'proper' Bubble. :)

And Oz Bubble is a "proper" Bubble shape - ie no concaving with the Bubble bulge. I've seen it in the flesh. It's just the "Bubble II" stickers on the Oz bats use Ricochet colours. Otherwise, no resemblance whatsoever.
-
It's usually the name of the retailer, they look unfamiliar though.

Good to know. Seems odd that they would go to all that trouble and then slap modern stickers on it!

i got some of those stickers on my kook to, but no initials. interestingly, when i roll down the grip on my kook viper, it says kahuna. is it possible that the bat was meant to be a kahuna. i always used to buy kahuna's but decided to try different this year, may turn out i still bought the same bat.
-
My Kahuna Players has the initials "AGT" and then "Kahuna" on the handle. My other Kook bats all have the model name and weight on the handle
Recoil Players
Rogue Players
Kahuna 1000
Viper Pro 1200
Firebird 1000

From what we understand, the three letter code is a shipping code.

I think the "AUS" means Australia and "Bubble" is the model type...
Not sure why it's taken so long to figure this out, guys! ;)
-
Re-invigorating an old thread, I have just bought a Kookaburra Kahuna 1250 new in the UK from a sports retailer.
Under the grip, in addition to the usual model names, there is another sticker
DHARHAM
PAL
Any thoughts? Have searched but it doesn't seem to be a player.
-
Dharham could be mis-spelled for Durham if you got the bat off lorimers cricket?
-
I did and had considered that.
Have bought a number of bats from them without this label though.
-
Sounds like a Indian name.
Bat market at SG?
