Title: Hampshire area nets
Post by: WalkingWicket37 on November 25, 2013, 10:49:11 PM
Well as the rest of the forum seem to be gettin together any southerners fancy getting together for a net at the Ageas bowl (or somewhere else if you know of it)??

As the Croydon one sounds like a success I feel left out as I couldn't make it lol

Just North of the Isle Of Wight Mr Cat!
In the middle of Southampton and Portsmouth.

And played in Hampshire League County 2 last year but I can be as bad as you want me to  :D

Nice. I have been playing for Portchester one's in County 1. Hope to have another crack at it again this year but I'm getting on a little now so preseason will have to go well.

With regards to the nets I dummer are they available to hire and have they got a bowling machine?  Anybody got any contact details?

They play indoor cricket every evening.
But also have 3 nets and two bola machines.
Nets are £25/hour plus £5/hour for bowling machine.

Pete - it is almost as if you have been there before!

I think another Dummer net session is a good plan

If we both keep out places in our sides our paths may cross next year as we were promoted.

So if we get 5 or 6 of us (and no bowling machine) it works out quite reasonably priced.

Is anyone definitley interested?? And we'll need a date/time too.

I reckon 6 of us is the best number? 2 hour net with each having 20 minutes batting, and the other 5 bowling (or in my case, sort of skipping up and a little twirl with a little flick which usually results in the ball getting spanked everywhere!)

Sounds a good plan, can I put you down then??  :D

Anyone else definitely interested??

Based on last night's experience, you'll want 10 people. 1 person batting, three people bowling continuously with two or three dropping in when they feel like it and the others drooling over the wood on display...

You mean 2 people bowling and 2 or 3 making an attempt to get the ball from one end to the other, whilst everyone coos over the wood?

Think I'm going to be busy up until Christmas then have about 2 weeks off, so 28/12/13 to 5/1/14 I would probably be able to make.
