As mentioned in the eBay bargains thread, took the plunge on one of these in the hundred quid offer. I wanted to like it, cosmetically it was a stunner, but the shape I found to be very odd, and the concaving was pretty extreme; the only thing retro about it was the stickers. As you can see from the pics, the concaving was also pretty uneven, one side was more heavily scalloped at the toe. Anyway, in the end I returned it, so I'd anyone fancies it for an extra 50 quid, it should be back on the shelf in Worcester.

A couple of my team mates had these(they had a deal to buy 1 bat and get a high % off the second), the one(full price) looked good but the second was a pretty bad looking bat.
I do think the shape of these are quite awful as well, way too much willow towards the top of the blade. The one went fairly well, but the poorer bat was shocking and sounded bloody awful. Avoid.

Its a shame because late 80's /90's a fearnley was a desirable object. 100 quid seemed to good to be true at the time.

Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely piece of wood, but all the wood was high up and the toe was very thin. The uneven concaving at the bottom was the only negative in terms of quality and finishing. Interestingly, I see that the one listed on eBay as per the bargains thread also has a similar thing.

Yeah the actual willow looks nice a nice stick, however DF have done it in injustice in the shape of it.

Shame that, it's a lovely piece of wood and it's a shame that it's been given such poor attention. Maybe they decided it didn't feel good off the mallet and decided to flog it cheap?

What's wrong with the original shape. Fairly sure my Magnum from the 80's had bigger edges than that bat, with no concaving.

lovely looking willow but, even accounting for perspective issues with the camera, there is something about the back that reminds me of a bumpy crossing to Ireland after too many pints!
