Been a while since I shared any batmaking pics, so thought I'd share pics of my new stick.
Vital stats: 3lb, 1/2" longer blade, no concaving, 35mm edges, 60mm ish spine and pings quite nicely.

interesting shape!
-
It's a sort of offset edge thing going on. Makes it pick up nicely IMO. This was a bit of an experiment as I'd never got on with a standard LH or LB bladed bat, but sometimes find SH on the short side, so I made something between an SH and a LB size wise. If it doesn't work, I'll chop half inch off the toe!
-
The bats I saw of yours on Monday were very nice mate, handle wasn't to my liking with the square thing going on but shape was nice, spine was even and finish was good so well done mate, keep it going.
Be interested to see one stickered up with your new stickers
-
Cheers mate! I'm looking forward to getting them in. I know the handle shape isn't to everyone's liking, but I find it comfortable on my own bats.

But if you plan on selling them it doesn't really matter if you find it comfortable... It matters what the customer thinks

That's why I do them on my own bats. Ones I sell, I make to what the customer wants

Ok, quick update on this. Now it's knocked in and had a few nets, this bat has a lovely middle! The ball flie. For a big bat, it picks up lovely too! Oh, and the new stickers are here! (Big thanks to Dean at Vulcan for sorting those out for me!)

And this one is off out. Excuse the darkness. My flash decided to start playing up!

That left hand bat looks an interesting profile. A sort of dynadrive / SS Jumbo hybrid?
-
There wasn't much method to it. That was the first bat i concaved, so didn't have much clue what I was doing!
-
I like the look of the 2lb 9oz G1 bat.
-
Cheers matt. Just in the process of uploading some brighter photos!

Currently a work in progress...(http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s463/thunderball89/1388951882893_zps9521d7ad.jpg)

Is the handle a special shape you have come up with mate???
-
Yeah, it's a sort of square oval. Feels weird at first but I find it stops the bat turning and softens the bottom hand grip a touch
-
Fair play mate i remember a guy in India did a kind of front extra on his handles was strange too.
-
I just go with what feels good mostly. If it's a bat I make for a friend, I'll try and get them in the workshop, so they can pick up and feel for themselves
-
All finished now

Now that is a shape that I do like! ;)
-
Cheers pal
-
Curvacious profile, looks good and nice grains.
-
Lovely shape, reminds me of a smaller version of my Helios Atlas profile:

-
IMO it's one of the best you've produced so far Adam - what's the pick up like?
-
Thanks Paul
It picks up about an ounce or 2 lighter than it weighs. I've put a grip on it and it's a shade under 2lb 9oz (Average weight between 3 sets of scales) Once it's oiled and knocked in (which I do on every bat I send out now), it'll be 2lb 9 dead I reckon

You need to get a dead side on shot of that one A-Dog, I reckon that will spark some debate. Not everyone's idea of traditioanl shape possibly?
-
Will get one up once I get back from work.

Can we get a completely square to the bat profile shot of this please?
From the top picture it looks unreal!

As mentioned (and requested) in the AOC Gear Test thread, I sent off a bat for review with the cricketer magazine.
The gave general feedback and scores out of 10 on a few things, such as value for money, performance, first impressions and pick up/feel.

Congratulations, good on you for sending in a bat, and those are some healthy scores! :)
-
Thanks chad. Can't do much about performance until I get/build a press, but the rest of it leaves room to improve and work on.
-
Got a few bits coming from abroad in the next week... For now, a sneak peek
