I quite like the look of the smaller peak - does anyone wear one of these for batting? Or not recommended?

There have been a few threads on this, if you go into the helmet section then search it will narrow the results down.
From memory guys who posted said they had fine, possibly an issue with sun creeping into the eyes due to the shorter peak. Also I wouldn't fancy a bowler with a yard or 2 of pace getting one to hit your peak/grill.

Played against a lad couple of years back who did this! Being the badger I am I knew it was a keeping helmet and was laughing to myself thinking he must be rubbish!
Turned out he was class and hit 60odd not out to win the game

I have been batting with the keeper helmet, and it is great. Subconsciously I think it gives me a better scale of vision.

I'm one of those who struggles with wearing a helmet - partly because I'm old school (not that I'm THAT old).
I rarely wear one in a match and if I do it's more for fear of my own form (top edges) than bowlers being quick.
So thinking about one with least visual impairment.

You want to look at Ayrtek/Adidas lids then mate

I tried one - it didn't suit me to be honest.

I use a Masuri Keepers lid to bat in. No worries at all, and the vision is great.
I also have an Ayrtek Raw which i am slowly migrating to, especially as my Masuri will soon not meet the regulations. Whilst anyone who has purchased an 'old' helmet is fine to continue to wear one, it is not the best idea for a retailer to try and promote a new product if he isn't wearing it.

Thanks for the input guys. I want to start wearing one more regularly as I get older/ slower reactions.
Currently use Albion Centurion - which was cheap (for the simple fact that I don't use it very often) although it's pretty heavy it fits me well and has a smallish peak.
Will give Masuri a go.
