Is Quinton de Kock the best up and coming talent in international cricket??
He looks so composed at the crease and has such talent, I seriously enjoy watching him bat.
-
I was going to do this topic a while back but I knew that someone would soon!
The guy has looked superb and a fantastic talent!
-
On another thought...I have always enjoyed watching Amla and de Villiers bat, as they are both awesome to watch!
But add de Kock to that list! He is batting alongside de Villiers now, and looks his equal! And that is a real compliment!
-
Was also just about to post a thread about him so just shows what people must think.
Don't see anyone else (apart from possibly Joe Root in a different mould) that has anywhere near the talent he has at that sort of age. Will be very interesting to watch his career. A WK that can open the batting is like gold-dust! Gives you so much flexibility in the middle order!
-
And 3 international hundreds in a row.....that's quality!
-
Boo, my interenet connection is behind. Damn you Hosk, he's still on 99!

Great name. Bet you he had no trouble with the women :D

Ooops...sorry :(
Great batting though, and abdv is looking great at the other end too! Superb viewing! :D
-
Haha sure is.
Not got a 50 in ODI's yet. 4 100's though!
-
No 50's....BAH! He obviously can't bat! ;)
He has gone going for bigger shots. But he did the damage!
-
So talented.. very composed as well.
If he continues and goes on, sure captaincy material. Early days though

After the impressive start to his career he can't be far off the yet side (especially with their misfiring top order at present)
-
There are three aussie guys I can't wait to come in Nic Maddison, Jordan silk and Kurt Pattison. Unfortunately they are all openers so its going to be a bitch fight to see who makes it to the top tier. I think Kurt is a bit more flexible in his batting positon.
De Kock has been unbelievable in his career so far, can't wait to see him in aus.

Nice bat too !
-
Great talent and only 20 years old :D think we might be looking at a great in the making..
Is it just me or does his bat look rather large ???
-
He is certainly a great talent for the Proteas. He has the ability to hit boundaries and does it with such ease. I think he hit the most sixes in the domestic T20 competition last year. He complements Amla well as an opening partnership and with ABDV coming in later, the batting line-up looks good.
His bat looks huge

I guess that is not your average Purist bat. Probably weighs about 2.7 !
-
Ignoring the fact that he has tormented India, he sure is an awesome talent. I think he style of playing will suit better in the longer format.
That bat sure is lovely!! But doesnt look like a Purist profile to me..

2.7 for such a big looking bat!!
-
Quinton de Kock is a fantastic talent.
But before he gets a Test cap, he's got to sort out his defensive play.
He's been earmarked to open against Australia in the Test series in February.
de Kock's bat come down at an angle and will be exposed against bowlers like Harris or Johnson.
He's in great form and a couple of big scores for his franchise will really up the pressure on Alviro and Duminy.
-
De Kock def deserves a spot in the Test Squad. Think it might not be a bad idea to get him to keep in Test matches and take that burden off AB as well. Don't think De Kock should open in Test Cricket yet, I'd slot him in at 7 to start off with.
I also think selectors should be looking at Stiaan Van Zyl, a very classy Left Hander that has been doing very well domestically this season. This guy can bat and will play for SA soon as well.
Petersen is struggling so they will probably give him one more go with Elgar as his replacement should he not perform.

Riley Roussow is the one I'm looking to step it up.
Fantastic player.

Gerry, have you heard of a lad called Brandon Scullard?

Yes mate young fast bowler.
He's from Durban. He's a good bowler at provincial level. He's done well for KwaZulu-Natal 50 odd wickets at 23.
In limited opportunities for Dolphins he's struggled a but. But he's still only 22 so he's got time on his side.
-
That young fast bowler Hendricks looks like he could be a star.
Average of 20 with the ball after 40 FC matches is pretty good going.

Do you rate him? Have you seen him live?
-
De Kock will definitely replace AB de villers when takes over as Captain when Graeme Smith retires
-
he's a definitely a brilliant young talent, enjoy watching him bat, especially the ease with which he hits boundaries.
-
Yeah South Africa are lucky to have him and he's young as well
-
I'd have thought they'd bring him into the side now Kallis has retired, take the gloves from AB who is pretty poor with them lets be honest. Let AB concentrate on his batting and bat maybe a spot higher, let De Kock ease his way in at 6 or 7 where there is less pressure on his batting. Seems logical to me, however I'm not fully aware of any batsmen waiting in the wings for SA so not sure who else they'd replace Kallis with

Yeah I don't know what their going to do they've got some tough decisions to make

De Kock in for AB and keep.
AB in for Tahit as first choice spinner
Still need another for Kallis.

Well I have South African family expecting a call any day now, I can bat at 3 and replace Tahir as frontline spinner ;)
Then get De Kock in to keep and add another seamer who can hold the right end of a bat, problem solved!
-
Robin Peterson should always play in front of Tahir he bowls better and can bat

don't think you'll quite make the side with a H.S of 62

With South African family you are surely in line for a game for England. :D

That can only increase, I only started taking batting seriously last season :-[

That's my back up plan if I don't make the South African side mate ;)

62*... Did you run out of partners? Robbed you of a 100 I say
-
Can you run out of partners batting at 11?

Chased down the total with 6 overs left. The oppositions batsmen robbed me of a ton! ;)

I'm offended! It has happened to me countless times down the years! :D

You do play for sarisbury yeah? Or am I confusing you with a different Cameron pye??
