We are off to india in 3 weeks ,so were looking for new ideas for our 2010 softs range . We are looking for a range to go with the '666' range ,with maybe a red/black colour sceme? what designs would you like to see?
matt
-
from wat i have seen is that people really like the classy all white look
-
yeah ,we are going to keep the excel range ,just 'tweak' it a bit.Just thinking of doing a more modern/colourful range to give people the option.
-
How about pads designed like Kookaburra with the big fat knee roll, also cane rods.
-
Also if you had different bits of padding in the pads people could create their own stye of comfort!
-
yeah i like plain simple white pads, with the canes.
-
Plain white stuff mate with a red 666 logo.........definatly the way to go, plus it will highlight you bats........

I like those gloves exect for the finger with all the detail.
-
Please, no rubbish sausage style fingers. The grip isn't as good as it is with split style
-
Thats a complete load of bull, if you have nothing of value to add then dont post at all. The vast majority of top international players use sausage style gloves.
-
its a personal opinion just not expressed in the best of ways!
-
im more a fan of split finger, but really like the look of the slaz Micheal Clarke gloves i also really like the feel of Kookabura Ice gloves,
If any are going cheap tell me!

Yes raymond you are right but you fail to understand WHY they use sausage gloves. With split finger gloves, the knuckles rexposed so all batmakers highly recommend that players use sausage style finger so the whole of the finger is protected.
-
Shut up you moron
-
Shut up you moron
no need to be aggressive. daft way of going about things. If you think I am wrong, then write your own counter argument. moron will get you about as far as.... well nowhere really!
-
Have to agree with Musama, no need to be like that Raymond. Any more and it will be a ban.
Far better to explain why you feel he is wrong.
-
1. There is no difference in the plams between split and sausage gloves so any difference in grip. Its not as if either gloves protection can affect the grip. Its purely a comfort issue.
2. I apologise in the second instance as im sure tendulkar ponting and the like would listen to batmakers over their own preferences, clearly.
3. Split finger gloves do not leave the knuckles exposed as obviouslt then they wouldnt be sold.
4. What are these dizzieing heights i will achieve by not calling you a moron? i am intrigued.
I agree my tone was hasty and unnessecary, but leo how can you threaten to ban me for calling him a moron when hes clearly talking rubbish.
-
I think the Admins are tense after what has happened to CSF
-
why don't you just explain that in a more productive way and argue your point respectfully and intellectually rather than in the way you did? Save any further issues such as this
-
what was the full story there Apple?
-

what happened to csf?
-
basiclly there was loads of fighting and all the old members like leo and stuff have all left and said goodbye etc.

go to your local cricket shop. Get the Kooka Kahuna RP gloves (the most expensive gloves in the market) and curls your fingers. Then you will agree with what I have said. I am not here to teach you life lessons but one day you will realise how far just being friendly takes you.
-
Dont try and patronise me, being friendly on a cricket forum is hardly going to change anything about my life. People are only generally friendly when it benefits them in some way.
And about the gloves, i dont believe that iit expose the knuckles whilst holding a bat.
-
i would only think that they wud expose the knuckles if they are too small for u and are streching or straining! as they are designed to have a bit of give! or if u hands are smaller then they wont be exposed at all in my opinion
-
Please, if someone really wants to, go start a thread on the merits of sausage finger versus split. In the mean time, does any body have any further ideas for matt's new range?
I used to have a sweat band that was black, with red and yellow licks of fire on them (very rock!) - I think a similar trim for the 666 range would look good
(http://www.findtheneedle.co.uk/images/products/2286949.jpg)
-
That's a bit of a rubbish example, but same idea.
Wrist bands on gloves and straps on pads would look cool
-
wud look very cool! but may also give a chepish not classy image that may not appeal to very many just my opinion but i thing it looks quite cool!
-
yeh i think that would fit the name very well
-
You have a very good name with which there is plenty of scope to experiment with the play on words - Hell = Flames, Fire, Devil etc - conversely, you could play with the idea of limited edition angelic/heavenly design to juxtapose the hellish theme. Just an awful idea of mine!
As for softs, if i was in your shoes i would go for something a little bold - Black/Red Panels on parts of the front of the pad - Black and Red Pittards Leather on the palms of gloves. An all silver glove maybe - similar to the popular all white gloves but giving it that unique edge.

i like the angel design wud be so good, or maybe a limited edition angel range aswell as the Hell, Devil etc. theme and have it like white/silver with a hint of yellow as that way can appeal to more people
great idea SillyShilly
-
I like the all red palms or all black palms, i think a all silver or gold glove wud get chris gayle going!
-
Black or red pittards palms for gloves!!!!
-
Never personally been a fan of coloured palms but i like the sound of white with a touch of silver!
-
Musama - Salix have and will be releasing gloves with coloured palms this year (red and black), the colours shouldnt sound that outlandish. Many other brands use coloured palms and i think that they work well, at least with black palms the gloves dont look so worn so quickly.
Newbery already incorporated silver and white this year with the gt range, and im sure many companies have done so before - but i've yet to see and all silver glove ( cue tom with link!)
-
Salix pod blacks are by far the best glove of 2009.........absolutly stunning! and yes they are pittards leather!
-
Would it be possible to get that fire design some how printed into the pittard leather palm?
-
fire designs should go on the wrist bands, also it would be cool if you could get some fire design grips for your bats!
-
Now that would be sick!
-
But I also like my idea of fire palms!
-
And the slogan could be:
"Burn Em' Up!"
-
OOoooooh Krrriiinnnnnggggg
-
I would like to see a red and white colour combintaion for the softs.
-
what gloves are those that appear in your banner? I really like them. You got any pics?
-
they are the 2008 range, we are looking at a similiar colour range to the ones you mentioned.
-
I liked the logo i saw on wednesday, but on the edges instead of the face - nice touch though!
-
work in progress my shilly...... will try to get a prototype done over the weekend
-
i think a totally plain white glove would be nice, sausage style, with the flames on the sweatband bit.
-
Whack some photos up when you do - i think it will be well received! How are the clefts drying out, got any super light ones in there?
-
They still alot of drying out to do mate ,there will some nice ones in there though !
-
before you choose, can you post pics of potential designs?
-
Matt, how did the Indian expedition go??? Any break-throughs for next years gear????
-
erm yeah, a very mad country ,there driving is very different to the uk! a horn on your car/moped is a must lol . New gear sorted ,gone with a black and red '666' theme, new gloves, pads, bag ,thigh pad and inner thigh pad,wk pads and gloves and trousers. I will try to get photos up asap ,please bear with me!
-
You made it back alive so it cant be that bad!
New gear sounds good - look forward to seeing it all.
-
don't know how with there driving! They just overtake it doesnt matter if there is a car coming the other way!
-
Did you ride a moped out there at all? I ended up on the back of one down a street lined with what I assume were prostitues, quite an experience.
-
It's only an experience if you get off the moped.......
-
I did, rupees stayed firmly in my pocket though.
-
we went on a rickshaw down the street, that was enough for me. Everywhere street you go down is packed with people and transport! they only stop at traffic lights if theres a policeman there....
-
its sounds like absolute carnage. its a country id love to visit
-
its an experience!
-
had you never been to India before that? First time I went I genuinely thought that they stop on green and go on red. it was mental! I also witnessed 2 motorcyclists going in the wrong direction on the HIGHWAY!
-
was the first time,i think they go whatever side is easiest! lol i think the police are open to bribery as well!
-
bribery of the cops is very common.. it seems like the police force is a volunteer position and they only make money on the bribes they collect..
-
cd is right. Unfortunately the police earn nothing so they are forced to take bribes. 'tis the big bad world right there
