Title: Just in from Salix...
Post by: VKS on December 20, 2013, 12:18:51 AM
We received a small delivery from Salix today that also included the new top of the range Finite grades.

I've taken a few photos to give you an idea of just how good they are.

First of all we have the new SLX, which with its minimalist stickers looks great.

I didn't get a chance to actually put them on the scales, but based on pick up, they mainly felt around the 2.8 -2.9 mark.

OMG! That middle SLX (half heartwood) looks amazing. How would you describe the profile on the new SLX?

The SLX has more of a traditional shape when compared to the Torque. The face is a little curved and the edges not too thick, but this overall gives the bat a very balanced and light feel. The particular one you have mentioned on the scales comes in at 2.11 but picks up like a 2.8.

Slx looks awesome.

This forum baffles me that people have to quote a boat load of pictures to ask a generic question when there the next post!
It kills people's internet allowance.

Glad you like them, they are pretty special. Andrew Kember came in to see us a few weeks ago and asked us to allow him to pick out the bats for us. on this delivery - looks like we will ask him to do this every time now!

They look stunning.
Almost a shame to use them and get them covered in cherries.

The middle set of photos have Pod stickers on the blade, presume they are Pods not Torques?

Saw Andrew finishing those SLX bats this week, one of them think it was the middle one form looks and my memory had the sweetest pick up, felt about 2.6 and was 2.9 from memory. Serious bats there mate.

The Grade One's are £287.99 with free next day delivery, which when you look at the quality of the blades, is great value.
