Title: Whats this stuff in the handle?

Is it filler because the handle didn't fit or something?

Excuse the poor looking after of this bat, just a net bat

Is it normal? Does it affect the rebound through the handle?

You're not meant to hit it with the handle or splice area mate ;)
(And it doesn't rebound that well off it anyway)

Nothing to worry about.

Seen that heaps of times....a bit too much filler on this bat though!

possible that when the handle was cleaned up level with the face that some extra pulled out at the bottom and left a little crater. looks like it was just filled with that to make it flush to the face. sometimes you see filler used on asian bats as most are hand cut and not cut in a jig. the splices arent quite right so need something to plug the gaps. shouldnt really harm the performance on this. if it was all over the handle and around the edges id be a little concerned the handle could fail but you should be ok

Thanks everyone for the insightful comments.

I looked because i thought the handle felt a bit funny, Hopefully it's right.
