Title: Best Junior bat (size4) for £100
Post by: Spinnerdistrict on January 03, 2014, 08:02:30 PM: Looking for a bat for my son. He's 12, lower order batsman, county level and a technical player (not a big hitter). It needs to be light due to his small frame. He says his current bat feels heavy sometimes. It weighs 2.0lb.

Or possibly even an Aldred Butterfly, Paul did do a message about junior bats and then re-handling them as they grow

Some of those have bigger edges than my current bats. How profitable is it for bat companies to produce and sell junior bats like these? Are they made from full size clefts?

Post by: Jimmyg on January 04, 2014, 09:50:28 PM: I'm sure you will continue to receive posts showing great bats from forum sponsors, but the weight is critical for junior bats. My son sounds a similar player to yours although he isn't a light build so I've dug out his size 4 Salix from 2 seasons and it weighs 1 lb 15oz. So I wouldn't look for anything heavier than that, with a lighter bat it should be a massive help in his stroke play.
