Wanted to get myself a heavy gm of decent quality, and jake at vitas came up trumps. Excellent service
I made contact about a week before Xmas, off which I knew he wouldn't have one in stock and it would need bringing in, so expected it to take some time.
The gear arrived this morning, taking into account the gear went from gmt to him and them to me including Xmas new year and all the bank holidays this is great service,

So I ordered a six6 original. Pick up index five, and a set off matching original gloves. For free I got an extra grip and lovely vitas towel. Awesome, it rains a lot at our ground! Lol

The six6 was a gamble, I like the sticker colours, and wanted a tad high middle, but thought this may be a tad concaved. But it really isn't.
The bat weighs 2.15 currently, so should be just over 3lb when I out the obligatory 2nd grip on. Just my weight spot on. With the middle being higher, it does pick up lighter/better than my other 3lb bats.

It actually seems a larger bat than I was expecting with a lot less concaving. I, really impressed with this bat, well done gm.

The grips are pretty good to, a shame they say gm, otherwise I'd buy a bucket load for all my bats.
The gloves are pretty nice, I'm generally a sausage finger fan, but with the splits on this, they feel great straight out the bag. Very comfy, very maneuverable. And the colour combo is cool.

And again, big thanks to jake at vitas, he sorted me and a team mate out over Xmas, and his customer service is excellent, highly recommend him for you cricketing needs.

Towels as a promotional item for a cricket retailer is a stroke of genius! I want one!
Nice looking gear too
-
Now all you need are the pads - lovely looking stash!
I can't wait for my new L.E. Gloves to arrive (via the Stig if he ever bothers to pick them up for me ggrrr!!)
-
Lovely looking kit here mate!
Do you know if Jake already had the gloves when you ordered as I'm waiting on a pair before my order is dispatched (which I can't wait for now!) :D
-
Those gloves do look nice, they look well protected too
-
Successful blend of modern design and traditional GM brand style.
-
Towels are a wonderful idea. Could do with a few more.
Buzz- I have some gm pads from last year. Not originals, but still gm. Along with a few others.
Mr pye. I believe the gloves came into stock after Xmas, with the bats stating there clearly "made in England" but the glove bags stating "made in India" I'd presume they would come from two different warehouses.
-
Man it's a nice bit of timber with great stickers but I can't bring myself to like the profile, it's all edge and no spine
-
Nice kit mate. I really like the six6 too, gm are really tirning out some great sticks
-
Glad you like it mate, not often we get requests for pickup index of 5, hence not having one in stock, but i am glad we managed to get one you are happy with. I agree about the gloves, they really are very nice, along with the GN E41 1000 LE gloves the GM Originals have been our best sellers so far, to the point where we have next to no stock of either already.
CameronPye, as per my PM, your Original gloves are here, and along with your bat will be on their way shortly :)
Just thought i would post here as it seems a lot of you are reading this. At our next forum event on February the 8th, we will have the entire range of GM test bats for you to try out in our net. A good opportunity to get an idea of how any potential GM purchases will feel in a batting scenario. Anyone wishing to come along to our free event please have a look at the details here: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=26893.0 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=26893.0)

The GM originals are beauties. Can't recommend them enough.
-
a team mate bought a flare original from vitas at the same time. just been chatting to him on text and he seems well impressed with his bat too.
2 happy customers from vitas.

Just fitted my extr grip and weighed this badboy

About an 1.5 oz lighter than my other bats. But well in my ballpark. Picks up lovely with the second grip on too.
Just giving the edges and toe a slight knock in ready for nets at end of jan.
-
Lovely stuff mate.
It's definitely a bruiser!

So I'd got my six6 original for sat play. But wanted a gm 606 as back up, and I wanted it on f2 this time as I liked my zona.
Once again jake came up trumps, with a purist 606 in stock at 2.15. Enough for me.
I'd also had a thread about a decent size bag with 1 big top opening, and jake recommended this aero. It's massive. Swallows bats with ease, and plenty of room in there, yet doesn't actually take up much floor space. So good for my smallish boot.
Also freebies again, 2 towels this time, and an extra purist grip. Cheers jake. Much appreciated,
(http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h76/smilley792/20140109_110609_zps05d7499f.jpg) (http://s61.photobucket.com/user/smilley792/media/20140109_110609_zps05d7499f.jpg.html)
For a 606 this face is quite nice, slight blemish, and not a great deal of grains. But tis a 606. It was cheaper than my grade 3 from a forum sponsor, so didn't expect a pro looking bat. So was happily suprised at its looks.

With it's distinct lack of spine, offset edges and no concaving profile, the f2 purist looks small I'm most pics. When in reality it's quite a decent size. Looks a nice chunky bat in reality.
Hard to show in pics. But here is profile to profile with my six6
(http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h76/smilley792/20140109_110820_zpsf4566936.jpg) (http://s61.photobucket.com/user/smilley792/media/20140109_110820_zpsf4566936.jpg.html)
Also I've discovered an issue with gms new grips. It's impossible to get the second grip to sit right if you have 2grips on there!
Purist the blue gm ring is too high up, but it fits at bottom.
Six6 it's crumpled at bottom, yet the gm ring is in the correct position.
(http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h76/smilley792/20140109_110830_zps5674d398.jpg) (http://s61.photobucket.com/user/smilley792/media/20140109_110830_zps5674d398.jpg.html)
I don't like cutting grips, as with used, they tend to shrink back from the fitting stretch, and move about. So any ideas?
Thanks for looking, and again thanks to jake for great service. Although, there's no vitas sticker on my six6! Advertisement opportunity missed. Lol.

Just one suggestion with the Purist grip that I'm sure you've tried - keep tapping down on the top of the grip with the palm of your hand - it should tap down to a point. Always worked for me with 1 or 2 grips, though I've never tried with the ripple grip...

Tried, but as the ripple underneath is quite grippy, it's just not budging.
I normally have chevron underneath and oCtopus on top, and have had no issue knocking down the over hang. The ripples are just too dam grippy.
-
Yeah, I have exactly the same - the chevron does lend itself to being a perfect first layer...
Too grippy grips - what a concept! Bats look great...

Would one of these GM
(No Swearing Please) grip pumps make fitting them over a 2nd grip easier??
-
In my experience they are totally useless but then again I'm more of a carrier bag man myself

Carrier bag doesn't work when you put a 2nd grip on does it??
My mat tried and the bag got stuck between the two grips haha (and that's why I always carry a bat cone!)
-
The GM applicator may help. Although i have found the applicator only works with certain grips. GM ones obviously, apart from that it seems to work only with other high quality grips with no air holes to break the seal.
Apologies about the sticker mate, i can send you a few next time you are looking to order something?
Jake

As Cameron points out carrier bag doesn't work with the second grip,
And my gm suction grip applicator thing does not either. It isn't large (No Swearing Please) to get the grips wide enough to slide the second one on, I can get it about 2inhcs on with brute force then it's stuck.
And with thicker grips I sometimes struggle to get the pump back off!
There maybe a wider one out there, but I bought the gm one, then gave up. Lol.

Haha, the stickers more for your advertisement, as I'd like to show people who looked after me. But it's no biggie.
Plus I think I'm done for kit this year. I have atleast two. Of everything, and a hell of a lot more of others. Not sure I want/need anything else. Doh.
-
Struggling with the same 2nd grip issue, 1 thing that helped a bit was folding down the underneath grip at the top by an inch before applying the 2nd grip. It helped it roll down better, once near the bottom of the handle unroll the first grip, then let the second one unroll. I found it fitted the top end of the handle better and then to adjust the grip on the bottom was just a lot of force lol...will post pics tonight...
