Title: Covered Kahuna
Post by: frooper11 on January 13, 2014, 08:34:55 PM
Now I know its SD and it's likely to have a grain sheet (although I can't see this in the description) but a tenner for an English willow cricket bat is crazy...

Grain sheet on the front, painted on the back.

Judging by the grip it is also at least 2 seasons old.

Can't argue with a Tenner though. The cleft alone probably cost at least that much.

Ideal chance to get a sander out and experiment with making a bat look better? Or is it a case of the old saying....can't polish a turd ;-)

Well, it certainly is a gamble, but I recall there being a thread or two a good while ago about someone who goes round doing exactly this.  Find that you get some good grains occasionally underneath.

I've removed the odd grain sheet and been pleasantly surprised.
