Puma are very good quality softs, having owned a pair of the old blue and lime calibre 5000 gloves, however I'm a sucker for traditional kit so GM wins it for me!

The Puma back catalogue is exceptionally good. The biggest downsize was them being too bright and colourful.

The new series look a lot better.

I would get Puma if it was my choice.

I'd go for GM personally but with softs it's down to personal preference more than anything else.

i have both.

gm original gloves and 909 pads.

karbon 4000 gloves and 3000 pads.

id say they are in the same price point/level. gloves 1 down from top, pads midrange.
the gm kit is good, and badi like it. but the pumas are better. and by a margin to.
betters feel, better made. feel to have better protection.

so go pumas.

Both brands make a very good range of pads and gloves. The GM gear has improved greatly over the last few seasons in terms of comfort levels and design.

We carry both brands in stock and having tried them on, all I can say its a very close call but I would perhaps give the Puma range a go.

I always use Puma pads as I have pretty skinny legs and I find that their straps are nice and short. GM pads straps are quite long in comparison and I don't like the bunching effect this causes. The Puma pads are nice and light as well!

The last 2 years the puma pad straps have been much longer than previous. Gloves and pads are top notch, one of if not the best maker of softs.

Very true...Puma are known within the industry to have one of the best design teams, with the utmost attention to detail. They always look to use the best materials available and don't compromise on the quality levels.

This then reflects into just how how comfortable their softs are.

(http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Products/Puma-Platinum-6000-Limited-Right-Handed-Junior-Junior-Batting-Equipment-WhiteBlackSilver-72734.aspx.) The only place which had small mens :(

Have been using Puma gloves for last 2 seasons and love it. These ones are the best.

And no VAT so came out little cheaper...
