Title: Uzi Sports shop visit
Post by: Northern monkey on January 18, 2014, 06:19:59 PM
Popped down to visit Asad at Uzi Sports today

If I'm honest, I could have spent a lottery win in there!
The bat choice is staggering, a day spent looking at bats alone,is a must..the Uzi bats were a particular favourite that are worth a visit to appreciate them.
There's everything a cricketer needs, all in stock and at a good price

It was nice to meet such a genuine, helpful and knowledgable retailer who loves cricket

Many thanks Asad, for allowing me to 'bend your ear' for a couple of hours!
I will be back soon for a 2.9 Uzi pro bat

I know what you mean. I went in there to pick up a couple of balls and a new grip. Ended spending 1.5 hours there talking with Asad. Cracking range of bats in the shop and out the back.

I was lucky I took the missus, cos if I had been on my own, I would have hammered the credit card!

Special bat? Bit of an understatement there
If you can't score runs with one of those pro bats, it's time to give up!

I keep reading on this forum about limited, limited special willow etc, getting scarcer, , ,that's because Asads had it all made into these Pro bats!ha

Each to their own I suppose, regarding looks, grains, profile etc, but I defy anyone not to be blown away with the feel of this willow when you bounce a ball on it!

Some of the bats have been sent with few players who were going back to Pakistan and rest through my brother who works in a Courier Company in London.

Popped into Uzi sports today , ,another quick visit, that turned into two hours!!

Took a good friend with me to look at Asads stock of bats, which proved to be fatal for my friends wallet!
He picked up a truly stunning Bas vampire, tendulkar shaped, , ,at 3lb, ,
The pick up was a good couple of pounds less,

The look of the bat was nothing particularly impressive, no 25 arrow straight grains or owt like that
But, and a huge but, ,the performance was ridiculous , the sweet spot started just off the toe,and I mean just off the toe, ,and was still good just under the v of the spline!!!
I suppose I will never judge a bat on looks alone again

I don't know how long Asad spends going through bat stocks to 'find' these bats, ,?

Many thanks again Asad

I've never even picked one up before!

The ping/sweet spot was unreal, , ,and the pick up for the weight, was really good
My mates from Somerset, and is a die hard M&H fan, so you can imagine how good this bat was, for him to buy it

The gloves are in Thursday, , I've seen pictures, and they look very nice.

Thanks for your visit Mark, your timing of the visit was perfect as that was the only time I had some free since morning. We had one of the busiest day, sold 8 Uzi Pro bats  and a lot of other equipment.
As I said previously performance is guaranteed on our pro bats as every bat has been picked 100% on performance rather than the looks.
Our 2014 softs are arriving on Thursday and I will post photos later today in a separate topic
Any queries, plz pm or email
