Looks like some top quality coaching. No real fancy equipment either

No doubt he will be but I do think his father seems to push him hard. I guess at that stage his father wants him to be a cricketer more than the child does. We all know cricketer are like gods in India but I can't help feel that amount of cricket and practise at 8 years of age is a bit to much.

Agree with chris. Didn't see the kid smile once!

Totally agree ! This is like a army life style in terms of cricket where poor kid is training and following rules regulations etc ???

Surprised there's no comment from his dad along the lines of "I will make him the next Tendulkar"....

Although I'd have probably hated it, I wish my dad had pushed me at cricket.
I always enjoyed playing but just saw it as a laugh with mates/family. Wasn't until I was 25 I took it seriously, which was to late.
Maybe if I'd been pushed like this around 13/14 I'd have been at another level to now.
8 is abit to early, I'd I would presume that kid has been playing for a few years before that,
Will he not get burnout before he's even an adult?

See if he's still hungry in 8 years time. The issue with pushy parents is, at some point, kids rebel. Once distractions kick in, its about more than talent. Its about desire, commitment and hunger. To keep improving and learning.
one thing about pro sport nowadays - nothings left to chance. He'll probably be given every opportunity to excel.

It's the way kids (like me 20 years back) are made to study in India , he's lucky he's been asked to play ;).
