If it wasn't obvious that is the famous Tim Keeley. Brother Nick is pictured in the bottom left photo on that page.

Top blokes the pair of them and very good at what they do, tim has a real passion for innovation as he was bending my ear about a few things when I was lucky enough to go down to his place.

Forgive my ignorance but are the keeley brothers working for newbery?
Or they are independent makers who make all Newbery bats?

Isn't that a bit misleading seeing as they are cnc'd?

Nickauger - "When crafting the bat each individual cleft (block of Willow) is selected, assessed and hand crafted with traditional tools. Every Newbery bat is given its unique character and ultimate performance through its pressing, a time tested technique that sets Newbery bats apart from others. We take pride in each bat we produce and the shaping and balancing of Newbery bats is done by hand and eye alone"

No mention of CNC

Yep, noted, but every Tim Keeley bat is CNC'd isn't it?

I don't know, but wouldn't it be a misrepresentation if that's the case as the verbage clearly states that they are hand crafted?

Newbery bats are shaped on a CNC machine, yes. Similar process (though not quite as advanced) to GM's.

Correct, they used to work for Newbery, but not any longer.  Still make all their bats, though, as far as I'm aware.

Thanks a lot to all for the confirmation.

Watching the video and reading the page *almost* implies

the maker (Mr Keeley) was the direct descendent of Mr. Newbery lol.

He's churning them all alone in the newbery factory.

CNC - what's that - when it comes to tools he (like all batmakers) is Amish!  :D

Great marketing!  ;)

I was informed that they only make the SPS range now.
