Hi all. One of the guys at my club was gonna throw this out as it is delaminated. So I told him that I would have a go at repairing and refurbing this for him.
So I thought I would make a little thread showing the refurb in its different stages and what you guys think. I will doh this at home using my own tools etc and not any of the tools I could use in the Salix workshop when I'm there. So this will consist of a Black & Decker hand sander and then the different grades of sand paper all done by hand. Figured he was gonna throw it out so wanted to test myself.
Ok so here is is Warsop Playinum 3lb 2oz and is approx 4 seasons old now. The owner of this likes to feel bat on ball and as you can see hits the middle a lot, he is a pretty good player.
So I have applied watered down pva glue over all the little surface cracks. I have used a mix of PVA and fine woodchipings to make a paste to fill in the big cracks that have caused the delamination across the middle. I have clamped these down using cuts from a thick spiral grip and left to dry for 24 hours.
I will sand and clean up the blade only as he loves the stickers and I'm looking to save him the £40 odd cost of a refurb from Warsop.
I'll update as I go along and see what the outcome is.

It looks used to me, which on this forum, isn't a common site.

True.. Still looks knackered tho!

By the time it is sanded down it will look as good as new. It's early days on the refurb.

To be honest mate it is probably very close to being knackered. The owner of this bat is not a forum member and he only owns this bat so I am trying to convince him to own more than one bat lol. Back on track this bat still flys but will if he is lucky last him through nets and maybe this season before it has to go to the willow fire in the sky tbh. Also gives me something to practise on.
