I managed to pick up a pair of Advance 3's at what i believe to be a very good price and in doing so saved a few £s which have increased my new bat fund :D (happy days)
But there is a snag I cant wear them in the house (wife will kill me) and I cant wear them outside as I want to keep them clean till the season starts.
So would appreciate a few peoples thoughts.
Thanks

Yip doing that tonight :)

Assume you are referring to breaking them in?
I have had Advance 2 and 3, both could be worn comfortably straight out of the box, taking an old pair of shoes as a precaution or wear for half a match at the outset.
Quality socks help, too.

Wear a decent pair of socks and you'll be fine, the asics I've had have been extremely comfy straight away and didn't need breaking in. Not like when I was a kid and each new pair of mitre spikes needed plenty of plasters all over ankles/feet to avoid blisters.
I've always found the kookaburra socks to be good. Others rave about 1000 mile or horizon too (I had the horizon test I think but wasn't that impressed)

Thanks lads, not got any cricket socks as yet so will have to use my thick winter walking socks. :)

Instead of ivesting in an expensive pair of cricket socks just wear 2 pairs of normal socks

Yea I have done this in the past but found when putting the 2nd sock over the first it pulls the first to tight. And £10 for two pairs of socks seems a drop in the ocean when compared to the money I have spent over the last few weeks for cricket.
