Title: SG Sunny Gold
Post by: mpatel211 on January 30, 2014, 05:31:17 PM
Hey guys,

If anyone on this forum has used this bat, what is your opinion on the bat performance. I am thinking of buying this bat so just wanted to know people's experience with the bat if any.

It's one of the higher models of sg and ones that I have seen were very good . I heard it from a retailer so not sure ; kookaburra and sg have some agreement where as sg won't be able to sell directly out side of India .

Hi lads I was on a tour sround Cheshire and I played against a young lad called Prithvi Shaw who scored 500 odd in a school game in Mumbai and he had been coached by Tendulkar. Anyway to the point, he was sponsored by SG and had a sunny gold bat and I got to have a look at good pick up lovely grain structure.
Had a fair bit of concaving though. And i can tell you from fielding in the covers as he batted that I havent seen many bats ping aswell as thst did!

Can I ask are you intending to get it off OLS?

I have  seen the Sunny Gold bats in  India and was tempted to get one but they were out of my budget. They  looked really well made but then again all top end bats are.

Not sure where you are  located, if you are in India then go for it. If you are in UK unless you are getting a really good deal, I don't  see the point of spending  200+ quid on SG, SS etc.. You have a lot more options in that price  range and a local retailer  will always help out if something goes wrong.

If you really want SG, I would  suggest getting a much cheaper model from DKP or SQ.

Hi mate was just wondering as I was thinking of getting of ordering from them but wasn't sure about their reliability  so I'm just wondering what  others have experienced from them.
Yea mate certainty good bats as a lot of Indian players Nike bats and so on are mainly sg made.
Let me know what you end up going for anyway!

Nosing around old threads and stumble across this. Pretty cool 7 years later, and Prithvi Shaw is looking like he's going to be a stalwart for India in the future.

What's up with Prithvi Shaw? Haven't really heard much about him since he picked up that nasty injury whilst fielding a few years ago.
