Title: Puma platinum 6000 limited leg guards
Post by: cricket247365 on February 01, 2014, 09:53:23 PM
 Hi
I've just received these pads after ordering them last week from pro direct but they seem slightly different to the puma platinum 6000 limited that are on everyone else's website, they are the 2014 model apparently.\
They also seem very narrow at the front of the pad and straps are very tight around the legs.\

For some reason I can't up load the picture but here's the link:\

The bottom of the pad where is goes over your foot isn't very padded and exposes a lot of your foot/ankle, not much padding either and the Velcro is right on everyone, normally I find my pads are too loose.

The main issue is that everyone else who is selling these pads don't stock this design.

The pads also look small.

any links to sites selling the other style?

pump have released there 2014 range. of which that is it. if you ordered from pdc then thats what you have received
the other sites will be an old model.

i rate puma gear highly. it may not seem padded against an inferior model, but as they are pumas creme de la creme. it will just be better materials used so less padding needed for the desired protection

ill just add this

if both pads are the same were you think there isn't enough padding, and not enough protection. id say they are right, and merely just not for you(the issue with only purchase)

but if one pad is severely less padded than the other. you may just have a pad suffering from production error. and needs replacing.

As you can see my pads (prod-direct) are clearly different to the others.

There's a difference in the design of the front pad and the protection on the inside where the pad goes over the bridge of the foot.

These might be limited to pro direct, or because pro direct post actual photos of the kit as to stock photos all the other stock photos may be wrong to the real deal?

I prefer the design of the ones I have but don't understand why there would be 2 different designs for the same product.

Me neither!

A sponsor on here Vks, stocks them. It'd be interesting for him to confirm, which he has.

Products often change in design from samples to the main product. The samples are often used for photography. I had and sold the Bubble that Kook used for their catalogue photos, these are the only photos available for retailers to put on websites too. The stickers are quite different to the finished product. The Gn1000 duffle from Gray Nics also changed drastically from samples I saw in July time, the catalogue photos were of this original design (again same images for websites) and the product we are selling is different.

As stated, PDC take their own photos of the products they get, so they provide accuracy in this sense. It could be that the design for this pad was altered after the catalogue/website photos were taken.
